I have a 98 accord coupe V6, and I was just curious as to how restrictive the stock exhaust really is. Is it really worth the money to buy a cat back exhaust? Another thing is if I do go with aftermarket I want something that has a deep sound to it. I dont want anything close to sounding RICEY. :disappoin What brand would you guys recommend? Thanks

I can't give you any #s (as far as exhaust flow) but I know I've seen a few Accords with DCs cat-back systems...they look nice, and sound decent.
The best sounding systems I've seen on imports are the ones that have that 'dual canister' design to them...but I don't know about finding an application that'll fit your accord.
If it were me I'd start calling up muffler shops and asking questions. I can see how some manufacturers have cat-back systems that seem revolutionary, but I have rarely seen a cat-back system that looked like it was really worth the price. Why pay for a brand name on a system that's comparable to what you could have custom fabricated for your car?
As far as performance gains...I would assume 10-15hp gains.
Keep in mind you wont get 10-15 on the road, maybe on a dyno, but depending upon your particular engine, you could get 5hp, 3hp, 8hp, or 13 extra hp...whether it will be worth it or not depends on how serious you are about modifying the car.
