Ya, I'm selling my car too.......Depends if I can get my hands on one of those JDM spoilers or not.

Reason for selling is that I'm tired of riding in a suped up car always looking out for holes and cracks in the ground and stopping to a damn crawl over speed bumps :shakehead Just too much of a headache now :disappoin :crying: . But I will miss my car for sure! :crying:

Looking to get a stock 92+up Prelude or a brand new Nissan Sentra and Im seriously looking into getting the 2004 Echo Hatchback!!

heavy foam rubber, oem, ultra rare.

Here's the link to my F/s thread...there's an example pic of what the wing looks like on a 4g civic.

Weird that the mid-wing is rubber :sly: The one's we got as an option were the same stuff as the SiR top spoiler is made of - polycarbonate? It's hard, not rubber. Unless I missed something somewhere

Problem_Si
08-20-2003, 01:49 AM
yea its definitely some sort of injection molded rubber...the wing weighs about a good 10 pounds. Its firm, but gives a little when squeezed...

i like it, because you'd really have to yank on it to cause any sort of damage, unlike the fiberglass imatations.

Hmmm... that CRX is running the same wheels as my SiR did when it was brought over from Japan. I have a feeling that one has had the crap thrashed out of it.

Better get them fast boys as our import laws mean that next year we can import them with next to no compliancing :)

Gotta love being a RHD country :)

:smokin:
Love being Canadian.

From my understanding of what I read about that though is that it has to be able to pass our crash standards exactly the way it was made in 1989 or whatever year.. So the SiR wouldn't qualify..

that is true yes.... but once its over 15 years old its free game. <-- period (trust me)

"You cannot import a vehicle that was manufactured to meet the safety standards of a country other than the United States or Canada, unless the vehicle is:

fifteen years or older (excludes buses);
a bus manufactured before January 1, 1971; or
entering Canada temporarily."

I honestly still don't think its just that simple. Trust me man, I've been dreaming about a RHD Civic since probably before you even had your CRX..

From the same site:
Transport Canada's law also prevents you from importing into Canada from countries other than the United States any vehicle that was not manufactured to meet the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards or the United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

its gonna happen... i've already been in contact with an import company in edmonton, maybe there lying to me :screwy: althought they seem legit...

One of there email replies...

"Hi Ryan,
We will import any vehicle a customer wants, as long as it's 15 years old or older.

Our services revolve around importing specific cars that a customer wants. We don't maintain an inventory of vehicles, otherwise it drives the final prices of the cars significantly higher due to the additional overhead of operating a lot and dealership. This is a very niche market with limited potential customers -- it's not like trying to sell new or used North American Honda's or Nissan's where the average Joe will buy one. Only the car enthusiasts are interested in purchasing JDM cars.

We are trying to verify information on CR-X SiR's as we currently have conflicting info about when they were first released in Japan. We have some info that indicates it was first released in 1989, while some info indicates it was 1987. If it turns out to be 1987, then we would be able to start importing that car immediately (as of 2002 to be exact).

We don't have pricing on these cars yet. But as soon as we gather that information, we'll post it on our web site and send the JNS Club members a notice.

If you have any other questions, please send me an email at [email protected]

Regards,
Mike Sorokowski"

Importing it is one thing, I want to see it registered and insured to drive on the road. Importing a car is not that big of a deal.

Ok - SiRs are '90 and '91, no earlier. Over here, we have to fit Aussie spec windshields, doors with anti-intrusion bars (usually GL doors or bars welded in, non vonvex mirrors, unleaded fuel tank nozzle, tyres, all fluids drained and changed plus indicators must match aussie design regs (ADRs - which are stricter than Japan). Cat convertor must be replaced and the car must meet emissions levels.

It's tough - fortunately mine got into the country a different route :)
