i was just wondering, where do you guys with skylines in the states find parts for them? do you order them through nissan or is there an easier way? i'm planning on bringing my skyline back with me but im not sure if its going to be worth the hassle when i get there. any thoughts?

Mine's coming over and the cheapest way I've found is to make sure you have some friends staying that can hunt down parts for you. Also, these forums and I like Unique Auto Sports. I havent ordered from them yet, but they answer my questions really quick and the prices are real good. Theres a couple speed shops that are close to me in Seattle, but I've emailed them asking about parts and I never hear from them. So once I get some money saved up after paying for the car to get here, I'll definitly be doing business with UAS!
Hope that helps.

Well, I decided to ship mine through Motorex. I couldnt find any other way, and I needed to do everything in a rush. So in order for it to be shipped on my orders I had to show a contract from Motorex as the RI, I had to show proof that it was paid for(Motorex's fees), and a Form 11 that I got from the Transportation Office(Army, I dont know if its the same for other branches). Then I had to have the car completely de-registered and taken down to the port. Before it goes down there its better if you have it steam cleaned to. Then you turn in all of the paperwork and a copy of the orders and thats that. It takes awhile but I think its worth it. Hope that helps.

the military wants your car to be emmaculate before shipping so no foreign dirt or bugs and stuff comes over from another country. it was the same way in germany, kinda dumb if you ask me though. (at least thats what i've been told by transportation)

Hey Im glad to help. Well, it cost alot for the car even though it was a GTS that I switched to GTS-t. I figured it would be cheaper since their web page says GTR's. But they get all skylines under the blanket term GTR's. So its costing me 16 grand to get it. But I still think its worth it, with all the work I did to it and since I won the car in an MWR raffle for 15 bucks. Hopefully when its your turn to return there might be cheaper options to get it back. Thanks also for offering to be a parts connection, never know when you need those. Most my friends back on Okinawa are due to leave in about a year or two, but a couple of friends are retired there.

I can get you ANYTHING new from the factory...some things used/like new. If it's smaller than a seat, I can ship it. I've had an assload of work done on mine....looking to have it shipped back in November of '02 when my wife and I return to the states. I was quoted $15k by Hiro because all of the shipping and customs tariffs are waived.

I am actually in the US, my partner is located just outside of Tokyo. His specialty is locating parts and cars, and exporting them to the US, for very good prices.
I really wanna come to Japan soon, but my budget is currently locked up in racing the GTR.
