Im here to learn something I guess....
I am new to the mustang world....and I have a question.
Whenever I am doing over 65-70mph, and I break- my steering wheel shakes...BAD....I dont know if this has something to do with the braking system, or the fact that its real wheel drive...or maybe something is wrong? The car is new, so it itsnt like the wheels need to balanced or anything....
Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you!

You could be looking at warped rotors and/or bad brakes.

Guess the best thing for me to do is get it checked out. Thanks...

Yep. I just have that problem when I hit the brakes after I do a run down the track or I try slowing down very quickly after a 130 run.

At regular speed I dont get it....but on the highway I will...if Im driving, and then have to break rather hard. Thats when It happens the most.
Im in for my first oil change soon, so I will let them know to take a look.

Even if the car is new there is still a chance that your wheels are out of balance.
With that said, have you had and hard braking experiences recently, that would have cause the rotors to heat then warp? Are you a heavy on the brakes, or someone who ride's the brake?
If the car is still new, there should be a warranty for problems like this. What year and model have you got anyway?

2003 Mustang GT.....Love it....
The hard breaking experiences I am talking about is, hmm, lets see how to explain it...
Driving fine on the highway, then all of a sudden its stop and go traffic...that sort of thing. I dont really ride the breaks or break that hard. I only break hard if the person in front of me breaks hard (chain reaction).
Its pretty much done this since day 1. The only thing that lessens the shaking is if I turn the TRAC off....

Taction Lok shouldn't make a difference; that only affects your traction loss at the rear wheels. I'd bet that you warped your rotors pretty early on. Take it to Ford or just order some nice slotted rotors from ebay or something.

If its premature warping, then it shouldn't be a problem.
