i got a 93 ford ranger and the gas gauge is NOT working at all ... i took it out to see if anything was broken but its all ok but some power too it and it works from there but whenever i turn the truck on nothin happens it just kinda sits there... and a buddy a mine told me it could be the float in the tank that isnt workin... so just need some info on what u guys think it might be...

It may run you some money, but my wife's 97 ranger had a similar problem. We replaced the entire fuel pump and sending unit assembly. Works like a charm now. Be sure to test with a digital multimeter.

so it doesnt work when unless u mess with teh wires to the gauge to giv eit power? if so u need to check to c if your ground is strong and connected good. also run a u can c if your float is stuck buy. siply takeing out and cing if it slides up and down or not it takes like 5 minutes after u take the bed off but really long time if u try to with out the bed off. well i think its either you float or like i said the ground wire on the gauges. it might even just be a shorted wire. helps to get a voltage tester and check all that. and like if u put a system in that truck with out a kompasitor then that can do it to cus its takeing to much power from the fuel gauge and maybe even some fo the others. well let us know
