93 Camry-Locked Security for Radio Problem

Hi,

I have Toyota Camry 93. Runs excellent, but the only problem is the radio/casatte player doesn't work and it says "HELP" in the small LCD display.

This problem occured when my mechanic took out the battery and forgot to the set the security code. I tried 10 times to fix the security code, but it failed and after that it locked it and doesn't allow me to set the security code any more.

I asked the price for fixing the problem to the dealer/mechanic, he said its $150.

Is there any other way I can fix this problem?

Hi, I have the same problem as well! 93 camry also. Any news on this?

The security system in the stereo will only let you enter the wrong code 10 times before locking the radio permanently. After that, you either need to replace the stereo, or take it to a dealer to be serviced. After you take it to the dealer, they can unlock it for you, but I really think it might be cheaper to go and buy a whole other deck.
