I want a different front bumper, something that sits a little lower, and looks a little better. I realy like the SiR front bumper and I would probally put a lip on it, but I can't seem to find a lip for it anywhere. Also I'm not sure about fitment, if I found just a bumper( which is another problome I'm having) does it just bolt up and line up? Also where can I purchase the bumper, I am also interested in the complete frontend, actually all i want it the bumper and headlights, but whatever. How much do these usually run? I have a 89 hatch, my friend has a 88 crx, he was looking for te crx siR bumper, anyone?

You cant just buy the bumper, it wont line up. You pretty much gotta get the whole front end conversion. Its actually not too expensive. If I ever get in a lil fender bender, Im gonna replace the front end with an SiR front end :evillol:

I thought the bumper went on fine - it's autonomous of the filler panel, bonnet, radiator support and lights. The issue is more that you cant use the headlights/bonnet by itself as they dont match domestic Civics - you have to go the whole lot.

No it doesn't. The SiR front bumper is more curved than the USDM fronts that are more flat in the front. Trust me, I know a guy who has it and its not fine.
It will fit ON, but it doesn't look right because the "lip" from the bumper thats supposed to be under the headlight filler peice curves out past the USDM filler peice.

Its advised to get the whole front end.. You somewhat get the same effect, but it kinda looks like shit without the headlights and filler peice.

J's racing make a front lip for the SiR bumper.. If you can find someone who can get it for you expect to wait like 2 months, and then pay out the ASS once you finally get it.

How hard would it be to install a whole front clip? Is there alot of welding involved or anything like that?

Should bolt up but you do need the radiator support setup for the bonnet to latch shut.

SiZ - the bumper bolts up to Aussie GLs with no issues, I thiought the noses on them were the same as your 4Gs :disappoin

No man. A handfull of bolts or so. Its just a hood, headlights, rad supports, filler piece and front bumper. Just a wrench.

Setanta - I dunno what an Aussie GL is :loser: , but I know that the SiR front bumper looks fawk on the USDM fronts.

SiZ

Not toooooo bad.. Its like an inch or so.. Maybe a little more. It definatley looks funny, because it doesn't line up.. It just makes it look like you got in an accident or something.

do you know where I could find a slightly better (close up) picture of what the SiR front end looks like so I could compare it to the US Si front end? Thanks.

You need to put some springs on your car and take more pics. :p

Setanta

You've never driven on Sydney/NSW country roads obviously :p

Truthfully - the car handles well with the progressive Jamex springs. It will outhandle a lowered car with tighter suspension at speed on a country road - proven :)

I'd like it lower, but if I do I couldn't get into the car-park at work :p

Pictures - yeah I know... but not much point as I haven't done anything recently ;)

I don't really know anything aboot roads in Austrailia, but I know what you mean by some bad country roads. I know there are some that I go on around where I live where you totally shouldn't be in a lowered car, but I live in a pretty big town, and spend most time in citys.

I just love your car so much, but I want to see it slammed with those wheels. Major props. :bananasmi

Just a word of advise don’t get your siR’s mixed up. The Civic siR is EF9 and the CRX siR is EF8, they have similar looking but different fitting bumpers.
