Audi A8 cartooned/cell shaded

ok, this is my first cartooned/cell shaded car, so give me tips and other things to help me out at this if u dont think it looks good.

everything was airbrused by me.

I wondered that, but I convinced myself it was. It actually is but not overdone.

this is what happens when you airbrush/use gradients on cell shading. it ends up looking like nothing has been done. hours of work down the drain imho. someone on photoshop junkie did the same to a cadillac ext.. you couldn't tell which was the original and which was the cell shade.

why cant u see what i did, there is not even a single part of it that i didnt brush.. maybe its just too nice to be unrealistic :naughty:

want the honest truth? you air brushed it so much, it basically looks like you just did a blur to the colors. cartooning needs some sharp defined lines to outline the major parts of it. while there are about 3 or 4 different techniques to cartooning/cell shading, all of them start off by using defining, sharp black lines to outline it.

and i think it looks nicer when its only brushed without those lines that u wont usually see in real life.

I guess you didn't mean this, people are trying to help and give you tips and you don't wanna hear it. Next time you should just say 'tell me it looks good or don't say anything'. I don't understand why people ask for critisism and then get all bent out of shape and respond with, 'it only took me an hour to chop' or 'I don't wanna change it', if you want help, take it....if you don't, don't ask for it.
You named your post cartooned/cell shaded, not a picture I airbrushed over not putting any 'lines that u wont usually see in real life'. Take a look at other people's attempts at "cartooning" they look nothing like what you did.
And if I'm coming off harsh, I am truly sorry. Your responses to people trying to help you just hit me the wrong way. I would really like to see the original just so you can prove everyone wrong and they'll be amazed at what you did. It's hard to tell you did anything, your chop looks like an original....

looks like crap. dosnt even look cell shaded. my opinion and my honest opinion :2cents:

go back and outline all the lines and block in all the reflections. THat is what gives it the toon look. You need lines and lots of them
i do my toooning on PS and i know alot of you wouldnt dare but i like it either way

I didn't say that you blurred it. I said that it LOOKS like you blurred it. What you posted is not a cartoon/cell shade. It's, well, it's own thing. The end result makes it look like you did nothing.

And don't respond with "but I did this this and this." I know that and I'm sure you spent hours of time doing it, but the end results LOOKS like you did nothing.

but that defeats the whole purpose of cell shading. the purpose of cell shading is to accentuate the lines that you don't normally see in real life.

whatever, man. i told you what went wrong with it and why it doesn't resemble a cell shade. i said what makes a cell shade, and i even said you probably spent a lot of time on it.

and then you don't even answer my replies when you asked for comments and was wondering why "people couldn't see what you've done."

It looks very similar to the smart blur filter. To make it look Cell shaded you need to make all the feature lines thick black lines. Also, cell shading seperates different colors and intensities of those colors into seperate areas, you'll rarely see one color blend into the next.

Maybe you should stop saying things that don't make sense. Read a post twice or three times before you get all pissed off man, the first line in honkeytonk monkey's post "It looks very similar to the smart blur filter." Its like I said before, if you can't take the help and critisism don't ask for it.
And if your refering to me as one of those whos only knows how to start a post war, then your so far wrong that it isn't even funny. I was trying to offer help and explain better as to what others were saying.
Maybe if you'd just post up the original next to your chop we could all see the difference, if you can post your chop I don't see how there would be a problem posting the original, but you don't seem to want to do that. Maybe thats because you looked at the two and couldn't see much difference yourself. My other theory is that you love all the attention that your gettin off of this not-so-chopped-chop and your actually the one who is wanting the 'post war'.

whatever, if u want to say something els thats not bout the chop, concider it twice, and if it is about the chop, make sure it makes sence and is true. dont just trow out words out of your key board.
