i got me an FD3S Tune A, its a mad car :)

Mind you the DC2 is considered the best car in the game for some stupid reason (2nd is RX7 Type R)

Evo 3 has misfiring system at 120K tuning points and that gets u a nice boost outa the turns

DC2 is only good on Happogahara with the handicap(boost) ON.

Neh... DC2 is good on Iro and Happo with Boost off. It can perform ok on Akina and Akagi but not on Myogi and Usui.

I recommand the FD though.

with all this talk i'm pretty worried.

i've got an R34 Skyline n i've almost beatin all the Myogi courses easy except for that red civic guy...Shogi is it? newayz i've read most of the stuff n ppl say Skylines r the best for Myogi n i think i see why. But now what about the other courses? on Usui i wasn't that bad, but do ppl even drift in a Skyline? or is it that whole grip technique with the brakes cuz slowing down just ain't my style.

yeah i read that other thing too, i use the Left foot brake to drift. But now i'm not sure n i'm thinking of gettin another car.

Forhod

The Skyline runs best in Myogi. But after that, it isn't really good. Well, in this game you still drift with the skyline rather than the grip technique. I tried the grip technique on Myogi and Usui but it seems to me that drifting the skyline is faster. Anyway, I suggest you to get a new car, like the FD or DC2.

Just my 2 :2cents:

Skyline = 2 heavy
therfore: bad for corners
and: FD kills it ;)
else: DC2 is crap, i hate it

Also: i suggest the bunta WRX, it goes well and hits soem nice speeds when its boost kicks in (tops out at around 170-180)

The skyline is the worst car in the game no matter what anyone says. The more upgrades you do to it, the slower it gets.

08-26-2003, 02:20 PM
damn it...

looks like it's the evo for me...

but i still like my skyline

JayBlueSkyline
08-26-2003, 02:22 PM
but if you get bunta's car. does that mean a new card or somethin? or is the data saved on the pre-existing card?

cuz if it's really that good, i guess i'll try to beat him.

96HondaCivic
08-26-2003, 02:40 PM
Everytime you want to get a new car you have to get a new card. And buntas car tops out at 204. I have buntas car with 1mill+ points.

Forhod
08-27-2003, 02:30 AM
As I mention earlier, the Skyline is only good and record breaking in Myogi. Other than the skyline, no other cars can be faster than it in Myogi.

Bunta's Car is an all rounder.. Good for uphill and downhill!~ :smokin:

JeffForSale!
08-28-2003, 09:17 PM
Hey, what you smokin? Check the net rankings, Skyline sucks as a car, it gets FASTEr as you upgrade, but it really sucks, you gotta be good to be able to drive it. On Myougi, the best stock car is an R34, but for tuned, the AE86 will tear you apart...

where do u find that site where it tells you what you get when u have this much points.

just curious about which car cuz my cousin thinks he can beat me with a stock Evo.

The DC2 is a powerful car in Intial D v2, for this reason: when you hit a wall, NOTHING HAPPENS. No slowdown, no nothing. And it can corner at a huge speed. Simply put, the DC2 is the easiest car to win with. Newbies love them because of the whole wall-thing.

But, if you are a total master, the fastest cars are the RX-7 FD3S, 101 (new engine) Trueno, and the WRX STi GC8. But the DC2 is still hard to beat, especially in the rain.

:iagree:

Anyway, Skyline is king in Myogi. Nothing can beat it unless the driver makes mistakes and stuffs. Only just one mistake in Myogi and you can't smell your opponent's smoke. The Skyline can take the corner more than 200. I seen a FD cornering at 204 before, so I think the Skyline can go higher than 204 at that corner.

R34.. lolZ.. it might run ok on Myogi but it needs skills for other courses.. Don't forget it's butt is good for blocking.. especially on Iro.

Whatever it is, I am still a fan of R34... :D

Actually, the world record for Myogi is held by a Trueno. (BumBum BUM!)

The difference between the 32 and 34, as I understand it, is that the 34 is total grip, whereas the 32 has a bit more drift capabilities. But regardless, you can win on courses other than Myogi with a GTR, but it takes a LOT of skill. On Happogahara, for instance, you have to put a lot of distance between you and the opponent on the small curves, because he'll catch up on the hairpins.

Trueno only holds tuned record in Version 1, Version 2 gets owned by *Ahem* R32. Tuned or not. I like the R34 on Akina, why? Because its so damn huge they cant see past you! :licka:

MR2 isnt that great of the car, it cant turn for crap, and when you hit a wall, it basically stalls... go FD and AE86! The most overused cars evar!!

The SW20 is not a bad car...you just gotta mess with the steering a little so it's stiffer and induces drift easier. And you have to watch out for it's massive oversteer! I think it turns corners quite nicely, and it's small for sneaking in on the inside. Oh, and about the wall thing...just don't hit any! :licka:
But I do love my FC... :grinyes:

For the last time, there is no drifting in this game! Watch the replays and watch Bunta drive, he does not drift, there is no counter steeeeeeeeeeeeer

Ok, fine so you're right there is no "drifting" but you can definitely feel the difference when you are gripping and sliding. So there's no countersteer...i don't think the people designing the arcade games want you to learn real driving techniques when you just want to have a little fun with a driving game...I am sure that the fanbase wouldn't be so big had it made you countersteer and used the concept of drifting to a T.

Wait wait! There is one car you need to use lots of counter steering.. it is the Cappachino.. It really drifts alot and you must really know how to counter steer it.. I see one person use the car in the game, it really drifts alot.. try it. :naughty:

Its also really small and i like to push it around with my R34 (its like a tank :smokin: ) but yes it smokes me on the hairpins in the end (not the comp, this other guy, stupid gutters)

Dont bother trying to use the gutters until you can beat Bunta anytime you please, maybe then Ill teach you, btw the R34 is too heavy to gutter to during your R34 career, just ignore it.

I'm at 29 stars on Akagi with my RX7, but I haven't been able to use the gutters. Am I skilled enough for you to give me a hint or two about 'em? Pretty please !!

Gutters can be seen in Akagi and Akina. Akagi gutters are wide while Akina is slight narrower. Iro also have some.

Those gutters in Akagi can be used by any car.. ( I think ).
Akina's gutters are used by lighter cars like the AE86s, Cappachino etc have better use. I think the R34 is too heavy for it.. :sly:

Anyway, you can feel the steering wheel vibrates alot and hear a tire gripping sound when you get the gutter.

The r34 is already too heavy for it, and all cars can use the gutters except for R34 and R32 pretty much

heres some advices. It depends on what stage you like and i'll tell you what car is fastest on what track fastest first. Myogi- R32, R34. Usui- sileighty, 180sx(240sx). Akagi- FD, FC. Akina- Cap., trueno, MR2. Izoh.- DC2, EK9. Happ.-DC2, EK9. Here's all the cars you need. Pick one.

Ever played Battle Gear 2 or 3? you have to use counter steer in that game and if u dont start a drift right the car may understeer, it also has an emergency brake on the machine, actual car specs, and ff cars understeer and whatnot. its full on sim. MEGA FUN. oh yea u can go onto akina in it too and if u save enough money you can buy the ae101 engine for ure trueno. it has a money system in BG3 where u get money the more miles u race. and the tracks are actual distance too so when u race on akina u only get like 5 kilometers. but its more fun that way cause u can upgrade ure car forever. even can get paint and stuff. with FD u can choose to change from twin turbo to upgraded turbos or even single turbo upgrade and continue to work on ure engine until u can push out 2.0kg/cm2 of boost (22psi for u ricers out there). really an awesome game. The cars save on a key that looks really cool too.

But this is the Initial D forum, Battle Gear 3 is a great game, even better if it wasnt so blue! And Akina is a fictional track, are you sure it was Akina (based on Mt Harunga)

ya its the same track done to photorealistic specs. they even have the real happogahara which i must say looks different from the initial d game, the roads are ALOT narrower. btw ive got some real photos from the tracks and places that appear in the manga. if u wanna see em shoot me an email PenPen989@hotmail.com

I wanna get a new car because my evo7 climbing n steering not very gd....so anybody can give me advice wat car should i take??

hey man best advice for you on the new car that you are getting is get a WRX STi Type R secret car. The reason for this is because WRX is a very stable car it can run any map under any road condition... trust me i brought a WRX 3 mounths ago now it is level 15. Compare it to other at the same level it have a very good start which alow you to able to win without blocking from other player. It run extremly well in rain against DC2. If you are a beginer you should get yourself an DC2 ( easy to build up the car and also it cut conner with high speed). Oh well GOOD LUCK this is all i can say.

DC = high speed, good handling
disadv= canot run in rain in Akagi

FD = high speed, good at Akagi, can play in rain and work good up hill
disadv= bad handling in map 4 5 6 , and hard to drive

Trueno = high speed, stable
disadv= need to be good driver, stuff up when you smash the wall.

Evo = hard to drive but better than trueNO

oh well GOODLUCK and you should know how to use the BRAKE before play INITIAL D.

Man You guys needs to stop dissin the R32 bcuz its not that bad if you work on it i have gotten a 2:20 with it on akagi DH and on Myogi i have gotten a 2:53 but then again thats my homecourse but i just got a Evo 4 bcuz i got tire of ppl beatin me with there stupid DC2 on Iro sooo i got an Evo

the 2 best cars i would go with would be either FD's or the DC2...FD is good on easy normal hard 1 and 2...DC2 good on hard 1 and 2 expert 1 and 2... but i dont have a problem driving both cars on easy or normal...but my best track is easy...and the skyline...they both are great cars...it depends on how well you know the cars and the track...my red 34 is level 19 i think pretty good for a 34

Team_Omega1
02-03-2004, 03:38 PM
r34 does not suck....and i think the fastest u can take that turn in myogi is 200 kph but being a really good driver...i can take it at 196-199 kph and thats with out trying very hard...34 is for clockwise...32 is for counter-clockwise...my time for the 34 is 2:52:8?? and with the 32 on i ran a 2:52:971...both on clockwise in myogi...and my 34 in akagi DH ran a 2:21:1?? and for usui i ran a 2:48:9??..so you see its not all about the car...it has a whole lot to do with the driver...that what i think
