i just got my car back from the shop (hook ups) worst shop ever.

i am wondering if anyone is having or has had this problem before.
here are the stats.

car: honda civic hatchback DX
motor: 1.6 liter DOHC ZC, SI tranny. ZC clutch.
mods: MPFI, BRAND NEW dealership wiring (cabin and engine harnesses)
brand new spark plug wires, brand new air box(also dealership)

problem:

neutral: revs like a champ from both the throttle rev and reving it inside the car.
first gear. barely wants to go, and when i push the peddle half way down it goes, but not like a ZC should, if i push the peddle all the way to the floor it struggles to stay alive, it doesnt rev like its not in gear, but it doesnt gain speed.

second gear: seems fine at first but still does the same when the peddle is close to hitting the floor.

this motor was almost brand new and it is slower then a CX motor.
i am sooo sad i cant even tell you guys, my buddy said his old 93 hatch did the same thing when his clutch was dieing, now i had a clutch go before but it was NOTHING like this, i couldnt even get it into gear. this goes right into gear.
has anyone had this problem before, can they tell me how to fix it?

PLEASE HELP. i have come wayyy to far to just stop now.

are you getting any codes? are your vacum lines hooked up properly? did you put a used zc clutch in? if you did, bad move :eek7: i mad the mistake of doing that and I had to replace it with a new one which works WAY better, maybe thats your problem

I think it could be your clutch, sounds like it's slipping a lot, that would explain your problems.

I would agree with the other guys. If the clutch is used then it is most likely shot and slipping while you are trying to accelerate.
