Those two swaps would be extremely trick and difficult, but yes we can do it. :sunglasse Feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] for more information on anything you seen and may be interested in.

Did you get some error message or something? Everytime I go to the site, the !@#$% seems to be working fine. You're the second person who has told me about a mishap with the site. I'm really angry  over this @#$% because I designed it myself (30+hrs). Please tell me what you see when you press this link. homepage (http://boykinracing.us/index2.htm)

i was wondering if it is possible to put a 1.8t from a '00 golf and drop it into a 97 golf. is the engine compartment big enough for it and how much work would it be, cuase i found some engines for pretty cheap

its possible to swap just about any engine into just about any car ... online there's a mk2 golf with a Cadillac Northstar V8 and a Vanagon with a WRX turbo. I've seen a mk2 golf with a corrado VR6 just the other week.
but beware, its not really legal :p

well there are also a mk2 rallye with a vr6 2,8lt in the front and a vr6 2,9lt in the rear :screwy: , and an other mk2 with a w12 (that of the Phaethon or of the Buggati, whatever you like) 4wd also :evillol: but these are extreme examples. it is true though that you can swap almost any vw engine.if you give some info on your car, year model etc, we may be able to give you more accurate info....

I have seen a Porsche 928 stuffed into a MKII. There is also a Canadian who put a Cadiliac V8 into one also. now that one would be the ulitmate swap.
for me now, I have a 2.0L16V which will probably get a Super charger in hopefully this year from BBM (www.bahnbrenner.com). or if I do not choose to do that it would be the VR6 w/ a supercharger. hmmmm... I know displacement wins, but a supercharged 4 banger is pretty nasty.

"Mk*" or "Mark" if you like, stands for the eddition/generation of a car. First Golf eddition was Mk1, the second was Mk2 and so on.The last launched in 2005 is Mk5 (Golf 5).

Just a quick question, can you stuff a 2.0 Auto Jetta engine into a mk1 Golf? i think it has a 1.8 or something and is manual. I've heard that because of the ECM it would be difficult, but does somebody know if it is worth it? and, what other kind of engine could you fit on a Golf like that?
thanx.

why the 2.0 jetta? you can put the 1.8 16v of the mk2.it will be much easier, and the electric circuitry should be simpler too. is it necesary to have it auto? I believe the 020 2Y gearbox is the best for this motor. And if it is worthy? just think about the cost of this stuff, and the 139 Hp of the 1.8 engine, calculate the weight/power ratio, and there you have a pocket rocket.
