ignition chime????

i just bought a used 99' passat 1.8t........first time owner for vw. i want to know if possible how to turn off the ignition chime when you open the door when the key is turned on? its very annoying, i know it turns off after a while but can i just speed up that process?

in the fuse box there is a small speaker that plugs in...simply pull out that speaker
