hey guys!

anyone familiar with torsion bar suspensions? how do you lower your ride if the vehicle uses torsion bars? is it tru that all you have to do is twist it a bit?

as a follow up question. if it can be lowered and since you're using the same torsion bar would you get the same ride quality. say for example if the vehicle uses leaf springs for its suspension and you lower it using lowering blocks you effectively just changed the distance between the axle and the mounting point of the springs.... and so i figure you're still using the same spring setup. am i right?

help?

thanks!!!

Give it some time brother...folks work and can't get to your post right away...
What kind of car are we talking about?
What do you want to put on re: suspension products?
What type of look do you want?
Are you going sport or are you going racin?
How low do you want to go?
Where do you live re: your terain?...don't want to go too low if you are in a hilly area.

hey civicleader,

sorry to read about your bro.

the suspension on this particular vehicle (a toyota that is not sold in the usa) is heavily based on toyota's hilux pickup. ive been reading up and i think i have to get lowering block - proper lowering blocks. i thought they were just flat blocks of aluminum but now i learned that they are angled to maintain the angle of the diff. the torsion bar up front is what im thinking about right now. im just going for a 1 inch drop. i want the look to be subtle sporty.
