You had a RS motor (420) crankwalk? I have to ask, I've seen people sell a car with lifter tick calling it crankwalk... For dirt cheap

Everyone wants to call crankwalk when the wiper blades start to squeak. Dont worry about it. 98% of them never CW. But if you really want to know, search for it here and at all the DSM forum sites. Its been beat to death already :)

What is the average life of one of these engines? I figure if you change the oil every 3k, and keep up on all your other maintenance there shouldn't be a reason they don't last as long as a honda or toyota. But I guess if your buying one with 130k, and don't know if any of that has been kept up, you could be screwed. Just my 2 cents. Am I wrong about the engine life??

I've seen 200k mile 4g63s, and at the track no less. ;) The motors are built well, just maintain it and hope you arent one of the unlucky few that gets CW. And make sure you dont give it an excuse to CW. For the 420a, I have also seen motors near 200k miles, but its not common since they are only 8 years old at the worst. Time will tell though.

Just be careful, and make sure to look it over very closely. I have 2 friends, one baught a GS-T that has crankwalk and the other baught a GSX, with a dieing tranny.

Not saying its a bad car, damn good one in fact. Just make sure you dont get too excited when you go to look at the car. I ended up purchasing a 3000gt with a bad synco because of it.
