need help on swappinmg gauges clusters

i wetn to the junk yeard and got a civic sedan gauge cluster. i got it and plug everything on my 91 dx hatch and it wouldnt work. does anyone know wat i should do? if anyone does plz help me...........

the cluster wont work at all ... or just part of it ... or your car wont start.
im guessing you blew a fuse but we need more info

no i didnt blow a fuse..... when i swaped it and the motor oil light was on... i think i need to rewire it... but not sure how to rewire it cuzz i dont want to mess my cluster up.......... but if you know how reply back

88-89 will not work in a 90-91 and vice versa. I'm sure thats the problem.

It seems really easy and swicthing the wires around is easy.
I just did this but only some stuff worked on the cluster at certain times, something was definetly messed up.
I ended up working on it for two days, and putting it all back to stock.
From my experience I would say it is definetly easier to get a cluster from the same year car as yours.

Im gettin a GSR b4 this december, it'd be best to go w/ GSR console, righ ? easy to install ?? What is all involved ? thanks -
