I know people here use Tamiya's Wax, but the local hobby store charges 11 bucks for the little bottle of the stuff. So I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be okay to use automotive wax like meguires.

I use Meguires and it seems to work fine. I don't have any hobby shops near me, so I don't really have a choise.

I guess I'll try some of my Meguir's wax then, I'm just scared it'll mess up the model paint somehow.

Try using it on a test piece first, like if you have an extra model or something.

I haven't had a problem with it yet. It has turned out really nice everytime, but if you can, get some Tamiya model wax.

Meguiars Wetlook Wax works sweet for me! No problems at all. I'm using it over Duplicolor paints.

I'd go and spent the $11 as the stuff goes a very long way and you wont get much better.
One bottle lasted me around 70 models
