Nothing from Tamiya yet, but personally, a Tamiya engineer (the guy behind the Enzo kit) wanted to make this kit, when I talked to him at the show. He says it's all up to his boss, and any encouragement will help him appeal this project to his boss.

Tamiya is running a special web page, called Porsche Paranoia, showing Porsche kits, that are currently in production. Just send Carrera GT request to Tamiya at [email protected]
They have English speaking staff.

Beleive me, I'll post a request for sure fo a Carrera GT to the Tamiya foe... it'll be a nice plus to a collection of Tamiya stuff, a model like the Enzo should kick butt.

I thought that we were talking about the 04.

I thought that we were talking about the 04.

Same here.

The upcoming Carrera GT is just begging for the same treatment from Tamiya as they gave the Ferrari Enzo. I read an article in EVO magazine recently about the construction of the GT and it is very similar in structure to the Enzo. Seeing as Tamiya have already released Porsche models I would assume that the licensing isn't a problem. Hopefully this is the reason that Tamiya have been releasing so few car models recently, they're too busy working flat-out to give us the GT before christmas

Fantastic. I was hoping it would be the '04 as well. That design oozes sex to me. I'll definitely have to buy that kit.

wow! it would make sence for tamiya to launch the carrera GT after all they released the Enzo and this is a direct competitor in the new generation of true supercars that are coming out, it would be so sweet if they did a Pangani Zonda C12S 7.3, the Maclaren Mercedes SLR and the Lambo Mercielago to complete the set!
Well one of these is definatley going on my christmas list if tamiya do make it, I want a metallic purple one for my shelf!

Tamiya full-detail, Enzo-riffic Carrera GT would be :smokin:

Tamiya taking current GT3 kit and doing '04 GT3 and GT2 would be even more :smokin:

But we must wait and never know what's really going to happen until they announce it. :crying: :shakehead

Should be really cool should this happen...

And as for teh current GT3 kit, I amazed that no-one ever released a headligth conversion piece in resin for it , with slightly modified bumper, shouldn't be that hard , though, and the result would be great...

Well, after seeing this, I want 3 of them. Go Tamiya GO.

I suppose it would make sense for Tamiya to go in the direction of releasing more of less detailed models (like the recent 350z).. As these are easy to produce and are low in cost for the customer.
Then release 3 or 4 detailed kits (like the enzo and hopefully the GT) a year.
Its not a product roadmap that I would like, but it would allow them to release a wider range of 1/24 car models. Something they are currently not doing.....

Plus the detailed kits would still keep the hard core amongst us happy!

Make sense... but I still want this Carrera GT the way they treated the ENZO... not a stupid Curbside !
