If anyone can help me out with this, I would greatly appreciate it. What I need to know is what emblems and labels were on the factory/dealership Sileighty. Not the ones that people converted, but the ones released by Nissan. I know that the taillight center piece reads "SILEIGHTY", but I need to know what the others say/are. Thanks!

There was a very limited run of about 500 actual sileighty's.
I remember seeing awhile ago on some japanese car auction site a real Sileighty was being auctioned off. It ended at about 4 million yen... which is about 34k. that's quite a bit of money IMO for something that can be built for way cheaper than that. They were just paying for the rarity of it though so it would be worth it to some people

I realize that the Sileighty is a VERY rare car, but all I want to know is what emblems I need for the factory version, like I know that the center tail light piece reads "SILEIGHTY", but is there any logos on the side glass, and if so what, and what hood emblems I will need, thing like that. If anyone can supply pictures, that would be excellent!

Yes, of course the Sileighty is a very rare car because it is reported that only 400 were made. But no the only thing you basically thing you need is the Sileighty rear panel. Which I have never seen on any sites and you most likely will not because they are so dam rare.

a Nissan Sileighty is a 180SX body with a Nissan Silvia S13(Nissan produced the S13 front end Sileighties but coversionists may use S14 or S15 fronts also) and Nissan saw how popular this trend that was started when a 180SX owner wrecked his car and realized it was cheaper:2cents: to get an S13 front end to replace his detroyed 180SX:chair: nose so he did. later, others did it for the same reason and even more just because they loved the look. so Nissan saw they could make money making an actual Nissan Sileighty. and they sure as hell did. Since it was only a trend they only made several hundred. Im not sure about the number posted earlier, i believe it was a bit more than 400.. the Sileighty came with an SR20DET engine (i think, lol) and so that was another thing people loved about it. the more powerful engine.

this forum has some fun as hell smilies, lol

nice double post.

you posted nearly the exact same definition that i did in the FAQ at the 240SX forums here on AF. :screwy:

but sadly, none of what you posted has anything to do with what he ASKED! :banghead:

Thank you Iketani. For anyone that didn't get what you just told them, I'll reidderate(sp?) for you. I understand the history behind the Sileighty, that is the whole reason I'm wanting to do the conversion. I just need to know the details on the car itself, what hood emblem did it have, if any. What all on the car had "SILEIGHTY" on it. Things like that. I realize that the Sileighty is an almost mythical car, that parts may be the hardest JDM parts to get my hands on, but if I know that to look for, it helps me get that much closer. I appreciate all that have tried to help, but I'm still no closer than when I started.

the rear glass panels to the rear of the door windows read "sileighty" instead of "180sx" in japan, or "240sx" here in the US. i also believe the official sileighty had the optional aero bumper standard along with kouki side skirts, rear apron and wing. also kouki/type x rims and a special ecu which delivered 215ps.

Thank you Re037, that is the info I needed to know. But where there any hood emblems? I think that is the last thing I need to know.

Nissan didn't produce the Sileighty to make money...if they did then they wouldn't have made so few. Don't you understand that production costs must be accounted for by all the cars they produce...so the sileighty had to make up all the money it took to fabricate (not much fabrication), design (center panel and whatever else they actually created for the cars), and then how much it cost to make a production line. The car was most likely hand-built...so they had to take the time to convert all those cars over...the consumer then had to foot the bill and Nissan had to keep costs low so they probably made nothing from creating just 400 or whatever sileighties...If they were to make a few thousand even then maybe you could say they were money-hungry.

"the more powerful engine."??? The newer 180sx and S13 came with an SR20 too...so it wasn't any more powerful than anything produced at the same time...only more powerful than the older 180sx and S13s which used the CA18DET...and only by about 25 or so hp...so not much...the engines also have similar potential...

My opinion on why they made the car was because they wanted to show that they realized what a great idea tuners had and maybe wanted to celebrate it or something. Just like the Nismo 400R or 270R...they were limited production cars meant to show off what Nissan is capable of and to make people believe that they are commited to what the customer wants.

u can custom make them(center panel)

take your curent one and scrap of the existing color
or the 240sx sign

take some tape and form it to say sileighty and put it on
paint it
and its done

got to a machine shop and ask them to machine an emblem that says sileighty

Ok, the SIL- EIGHTY writing on the back of some that you may have seen are custom made, and mainly only the sponsored cars over here have them.

Everyone probably knows this by now, but the Sileighties were converted for Nissan by Kid's Heart. 500 official S13 faced Sileighties were made, but they have also made and sold many S14 and S15 faced ones. If you can find their website, look at the current inventory.
Has anyone thought of contacting Kid's Heart for the pieces they apparently made for Nissan? Just a thought, although Japanese would be a good thing to know...

That is correct. Nissan NEVER made the Sileighty. The actual Sileighties said "180SX" in the rear quarter windows but the rear garnish did say "Sileighty". They were, indeed, produced by Kidsheart and I believe they were available through Nissan dealerships for a limited time.
