Anybody performed any of Vishnu's WRX stages on their car? It's sort of a broad question, but I'm just curious to see what the opinions were.
Obviously if I get the car I wouldn't go all Vishnu, but they seem to have a lot of nice stuff, and after seeing how Vishnu's Stage 2 package proved itself in SCC, I'm impressed.

I haven't really seen any ECU "upgrades" worthy of the name yet. I'll be sticking with the stock ECU for a while , looks like. You mean the short article in SCC this month about WRX tech for dummies? I wasn't really impressed. Any ECU tuning that loses me 16 lb/ft of torque in favor of 1 Hp isn't gonna cut it.

Yeah and I also read something about the Stage 1 Evo walking all over the STi. Seems as though when the #'s are closer to even , the Sti loses out.

Go with the TurboXS UTEC. Best thing going right now.

According to who? And whats the Hp and torque gains. And what about driveability. I can't take somebodies word for something without some facts.

I personally don't have anything "numbers wise" to back up my claim. All I have is the remarks of the people I know who have it. They are all happy with the TXS UTEC and said it was one of the best mods they have done with their car.

Without any numbers to back it up, I'm tempted to go with Vishnu, as it's seemed to do decently across the board. For the price, it seems great as a starting point.

"Stage 1" EVo vs stock STi doesn't seem like a very even comparison to me...

Ummmm when the Hp and torque numbers are the same between the 2 cars , I'd call it even.......... :screwy:

A local dealer has an 02 WRX completely decked out with full Vishnu Stage II parts (including suspension). While I don't have the STi to compare it to (haven't driven one), I do have the BMW M3 and M5 to compare it to, which it was decidedly quicker than. It handled about on par with the M3, and felt nearly as tight. It was a great ride.

So is a 500hp Miata vs. a 500hp Lincoln Towncar even?
I know, extreme example. But I thought the EVO and STi were pretty "even" stock for stock, with the EVO shining in handling and the STi shining in power. Of course giving the EVO equal power to the STi while leaving its handling advantage would make it walk all over the STi, just like bringing the STi's handling on par with the EVO while leaving it's power advantage would make it walk all over the EVO.
