Hey, this is my first thread so bare with me.

I just got a Tamiya S2000 V-spec from HLJ and I’m planning on putting a whole Revel ITR B16 and engine compartment facing forward in the 2000. I also want to put a Comptech Supercharger in it with a front mounted intercooler. Here is a pic of one but its not intercooled. Does anyone know were the intercooler pipes should go? If u do, can u put in a diagram for me, thanks max

Well, you have to intercool after compressing, but before it hits the intake. So that 90 degree stainless pipe would locate to one side of the intercooler, and you'd come out of the intercooler and head into the intake manifold on the engine.

Sorry, but no, that's wrong.

Cool, approx. atmospheric air enters the supercharger via the black tube/airbox. It's then compressed in the supercharger, which causes it to heat up and increase in pressure. You then want to shed some of that heat, so you pipe it out of the supercharger into the intercooler. From there it goes to the engine. See my diagram.

awsome. so do u think i sould run the pipes over the top of the engine compartment or thru it?

and also what is that black pipe u made for? and the way u have the pipe coming off the turbine, i should rotate it to face down right?

Geeze man, take it easy. It's not like you've never made a mistake about engines (INNERCOOLER anyone?). Astro, what you could do is check www.hlj.com for a whitemetal S2000 engine, I'm pretty sure I've seen on there, but scratcbuilding the rest of the engine bay will be a bitch :frown: Good luck with it though!

Why not buy a 1/24 S2000 diecast and use that engine.

The Sakatsu white metal motor is on back order. I've got an order in for it... and it doesn't look like it's gonna come back any time soon. I want to cry.

After 2 months or so of waiting I got the engine for my friend
it is lying somewhere in my work table, no work done to it yet.

Dun drop your order
it will come eventually.

thanks dick, i know its a b18c and i know the F20 is a lot more powerful.

i would use the metal motor but u say its back ordered and im to cheap to buy one, same thing with using one from a diecast one. but i do already have a ITR that my brother screwed up so ill just use that motor and the engine bay cuz they look similar. ill turn it sideways so the tranny is facing back. im hoping that the opening in the hood will be smaller than the engin bay tho. if anyone knows other wise please tell me. thanks

just an idea

use the block of the b16 its bigger (you need that)

revell messed up if you but the itr block (built) next to the b16(built) the b16 is and looks bigger

anyway you can use this block to use as a starting point make your own

valve cover and other goodies w/ styrene and tubing

and ur not alone im trying this myself w/ a turbo though

Sorry, I should have clarified that black line in my post... I just put it there to show that the silver pipe is no longer necessary (ie, it's not continuous). The black line is just meant to split it into two separate pieces (sorry, I'm having a tough time explaining that!) :lol2:

I took a 1/25 ITR block and put it next to the valve cover part from a 1/24 diecast S2000. The ITR is way short in comparison, so you'd really need some way to lengthen or build up the block, but you cuold probably fake it. Though between the intake parts in the ITR kit and the molded-in S2000 intake parts you could build-up the rest of the bay fairly decently... You'd be making the headers from scratch, though, but if you're looking for f/i that's a given... Then just use the fake bottom end in the S2000 kit to round it out.

Not easy, but it could work... :dunno:
