Oldsmobile 3.5L twin OHC

I have a 2000 Olds Intrigue with the 3.5L V6. It uses an internal paper cartridge type oil filter. I've heard I need a special wrench or some such tool to drain the oil and change the filter. Any advice on what I need to service the car myself.
