Yeah apparently it hit toranto and the surrounding areas, and also some of the US, it's my understanding, its all fixed now :confused:

My brother is a Power Engineer in Missisauga, says they couldn't even try to stop the power drain from tripping out his plant. :(

Poor kid, and his air matress (that Canadian Tire Bring Your Own Bed thing) is leaking air and it has an electric motor, so he's gonna be sleeping on the ground tonight. :)

my dad works for nimo (niagra mohawk) and he said it was just a freak total lose of power..which is kind of odd and wierd..but i guess it can happen...

anyone know what really caused it?? ive heard aobut 300000 different stories in 10 mins

Im here in Central Jersey and my power was out for about 1 hour....nothin major....but NYC and surrounding areas are still out....no tranportation tommorow....well barly none at all.....50,000,000 people were effected they said.

people where saysing that its canadas fault because...they had a thunderstorm and there power went out so they took some of our power and that was to little and it knocked our stuff out...which knocked out the whole north east coast grid.... :swear: canada!

thats the thing....we dont have a Generator.... :bricks1: so we had to get out the old match and candlestick......and i waited till 12 for the electricity to comeone and it didnt.......but at 3 my firealarm went off....because it goes off when the power comes on to reset itself......so i woke up......and i finally knew it was back......but the bad thing is that, they arent sure how long it will last.....what a pain in the ass.....

I'm in Queens NYC. I got no electricity for 23 hours.
Yesterday was the worst. I walked 5 hours to get back home. :mad:

But it was fun after dark because everybody in our block had a NYC style BBQ on the street. Because if we don't eat everything, it will become trash. :lol:

Atleast you worded it differently than the Mayor of Ny he came off as a complete fuckin asshole this morning on the news said we had a problem and we couldn't handle it so we took some of teh neighbors power that we shouldn't have done that, but really if both of them failed they obviously had something wrong with it I mean we borrowed a little juice and half the eastern seaboard loses it's power there had to be more wrong down there than up in God's Country. :biggrin:

Thats what I was thinking about when I saw the Blackout's on tv and then remember the virus Haha it's true, Next Thursday it'll be nukes dropped all over the world.

The machines are coming.

I live about 1.5 hours NE of Toronto, and out power was out for 24 hours. But, one section of town had power till 3am (power went out at 4pm), which was weird. Oh well, nothing really bad happened, other then the beer store closed (not good for the week long party i was at, lol).
But all is well again, and we got $50 worth of meet for $20 from a store selling off its meat store.

Man something as simple as the power going out like that made National Headlines even here in New Zealand!
considering we had one worse that that in Auckland about 6 years ago, and it made the news in the States. So i guess it only right to make our news this time :evillol:

Yes my town east of toronto got hit with is bad and we were out for prob about 30 hours.. I liked it though, it was quiet and just a time to relax

my power was out for around 14hrs, it sucked hard.

it ended up being weak power lines from Ohio caused the major blackout, not lightning from niagara/canada region.
