In progress Wald Altezza

Just arrived from HLJ - must admit when I opened the box I was a little dissapointed with some of the resin parts but after tapeing things together its begining to grow on me. Really could do with 19's but as FOTW said they all seemed to have disappeared from HLJ.
Don't ask the colour - after the b***s up on the Blitz MRS paint job it may stay in primer:lol:

Can't wait to see more progress.

Its a Fujimi kit - 18610 - the front & rear bumpers and side skirts are resin the rest is normal plastic it's just moulded in a cream colour that makes its look like its all resin:bloated:

A couple of you asked for more pics so here they are. The kit includes white metal wheel arch extensions but personally I'm going to leave them off. Everything is box stock except the wheels and the rear wing which is from the recently completed RX7.

As regards rims dunno - posssibly Amistads but they're opp
- previously I've just used the 19 inch sleeves to upsize smaller
rims.How about dub style 20 inchers - I think I'm joking but looking at them perhaps not :naughty:

its a fujimi kit (fuj186610) - GT wing not included

IMO the dub style 20 inchers doesn't look good on the altezza. Btw how is the quality of the kit?? Does it have fitment problem??? How good is the kit??

I agree re the 20inchers Dave - I wasn't being entirely serious -will go with 18's or 19's.The quality of the kit looks ok - only drawbacks I can see at the moment are that the interior doesn't have seperate panels and is done tub style and the resin parts may need a little bit of tweaking - nothing too serious. I think it should build up ok

Spot on - they are the Peugeot rims from the WRC kit - I was just using them as they were the biggest rims I could find. I was just trying to get an idea how it would look with 19(ish) rims.

It's just resting on the rims at the moment - it'll sit a bit higher when the suspensions done - but not too much higher I hope

Just a quick post as I've now attached the resin parts and given it a quick coat of primer. The front and rear bumpers fit ok- the main problem I found was with the side skirts which are too short but nothing too major just have to build them up with plastic card.Not sure on the colour at the moment-currently have 3 in mind - candy blue, purple/green flip or metallic gold.

The color I choose is candy blue

does it have a good amount of detail? Like detail on the door panels because my Fujimi Initial D Civic Kit has no detail at all on the door panels.

Last request, could you post picture of the seat ? are they normal a racing style ?

Can I make a susggestion/ask a question? Paint, i'd go with pearl white, and are you gona be using the puegot rims? i think if you did the car and the rims in pearl white it'd be :thumbsup:

Its Halfords automotive acrylic primer - I use it as it's easier to get hold of than Tamiya - theres a store very close to where I live

A little bit of progress - all the bodywork sorted and sprayed with a Tamiya blue (originally for polycarbonate bodies but seems to work ok)I'm going to use it as a base coat and put some candy blue on top to deepen the colour.

Same here from R10 but they sent Works Altezza my mistake :banghead:

my altezza was nearly finished, interior all done, chasis all done, paint nearly done then the halfords laquer reacted with the black paint i was using, made a weird diamond pattern in the paint???????? oh well, gonna rub it all back down again. then i can re primer and re spray. it was a rs200 by the way, its got 19" chrome rims and black paint

The kit doesn't come with a gt type wing - the one I'm using came from an Aoshima FDS3 RX7

That sucks Chris - I've been having a few reaction problems with some of the candy paint from halfords - I think the thinner must be fairly hot as its eating through the base coat and etching into the plastic -nothing for it but brake fluid. It seems to be happening with Fujimi kits - perhaps their plastic is a bit softer than Tamiya/Aoshima.
Anyway best of luck with the respay.

Just a couple of outside pics after clear coating - will have to leave it for a week before polishing out
