turbo-forward intakes

02 WRX
Simple question, really. Most intakes I've found are (what appears to be) MAF-forward. Are there any complete turbo-forward intakes out there?
Frankly, it doesn't matter if it's turbo forward or not. I'm looking for whatever the WRX responds best to. Does it prefer a short intake, or a full cold air? Would a full length cold air prevent me from installing a fmic in the future?
Basically, just the "best" intake. (i know everything has its pros and cons)

intake doeesn't fo much on turbo charged car, cold air-> turbo-> hot air ->intercooler ->cold air.
if you planned on a FMIC, then short ram will have to do the job!

Terrific. Anybody have a preference on a nice little ram intake? A'PEXi doesn't seem to make one for the WRX; they've been my habit. I'll probably go with HKS.
Obviously the difference in airflow between most quality filters is negligible, but if anybody's had an amazing or terrible experience...

I have an Injen cold air intake on my 2002 WRX, and no matter what anyone sais about it...it made a difference!

It SHOULD make a difference... cold air or not. Short Rams may not feed your engine cold air (which probably makes no difference b/c of the turbo), but it would help with increased airflow. I saw somewhere a chart of stock vs. aftermarket intakes in regards to airflow benchmarking, and the aftermarket intakes were a major improvement. Short rams actually had better benchmarks than cai, because there were fewer kinks in the piping. Based on this info, a short ram may be the best thing for the WRX. In the test, I believe that AEM and Injen had the best results.
