EBC green stuff problem

I just installed some new EBC green stuff pads on my front discs last night. On the way home from the shop, they started to smell. (ya know the smell hot brakes give off...) I assumed this was just part of the break in period, but when I got home, I felt the lugs on both sides. The driver side was so hot I thought I burnt my finger while the passenger side was just warm. (good thing I didnt touch the rotor or caliper) I didnt do any hard braking or even excessive braking. (I live just off the highway I was on) Later that night I drove about 2 miles to my friends house. I had to use the brakes twice and again they were skorching hot. Does this mean the pads are rubbing the rotor a bit? Is this normal? Any help is appreciated.
As a side note, these pads are really nice. My car stops on a dime.

Have your checked lug, wheel temps etc before? After test driving are cars the wheels, the lugs, etc are pretty hot as well . . . so what experiencing may be normal. Since the EBC pad is more aggressive creating more friction you may get a little bit more heat . . .
