Ok, This Eclipse was a bad investment. I have had so much done to it. Can someone help me pinpoint this problem? When I turn on my airconditioner, it shuts down my alternator. I've had the alternator rebuilt, and when it was tested it was fine until the airconditioner came on. I've taken it to Mitsubishi and they said there were no recalls on it, so I took it to a mechanic, they said they traced the wires and saw no shorts. I checked all of the fuses as well. Any suggestions?

Be nice to know what year and what model (GSX , TSi , GS etc ) of car we were talking about. To my knowledge , all that is run by the ECU. The ECU determines what charge the alternator puts out , and when the A/C compressor cycles , and for how long. If this was a 1G car (89-94) , I'd say your ECU was going bad , as they have a tendency to have unusually strange failures due to internal capacitor leakage. I'd swap a known good ECU and see if that helps. If we are talking about a 2G (95+) then I don't know.

I agree on what Rockin said, my car was acting very detrimental until I replaced the ECU caps(for the 3rd time). :banghead:
