YEAH...I HAVE A '97 ACURA INTEGRA GSR. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS TOPIC ENOUGH NOW. I NEED AN EXPERT'S OPINION. THE PROBLEMS OF TURBOCHARGING A GSR: THE GEAR RATIO IS TOO SHORT, THE COMPRASION RATIO IS TOO HIGH, THE CAMS DO NOT HAVE A LONG ENOUGH LIFT. I WANTED TO BUY A GREEDY KIT AND RUN 15PSI'S, INSTALL AN INTERCOOLER, BUY A BOV, CHANGE THE CAMES, ADD A STAGE III CLUTCH AND ALUMINIUM FLYWHEEL, PUT ON A GREEDY EVO EXHAUST SYS. CAN I DO THIS ON A 15 POUND BOOST? THE PROJECT IS $5,000 IS IT WORTH THE GAINS? WHAT WILL MY ETA FOR THE 1/4 MILE AND HOW MUCH HORSEPOWER WILL I GAIN? WHAT OTHER MODS ARE COMPLETELY NECESSARY?

you CANNOT run 15psi on a stock gsr.. you will blow your internals!
to add to that get 450cc injectors and upgraded fuel pump and a s-afc to controll it all..
i say it can be dont but not at 15psi

GSR cams are perfect for turbo, and so far crower has a bad rap for their DOHC vtec cams breaking, and I havn't seen any dynos or timeslips to show that they make any more power on a turbo car, so i'd just keep the stock GSR's. If you want to buy a pre-made turbo kit a rev hard kit is, imo, a much better choice than the greddy.
The gearing on a GSR is perfect for a turbo honda, and 10:1 is fine for a turbo, as long as you TUNE IT RIGHT. I can't stress that enough, AFC hack is a band-aid and that's why people blow up stock motors. You have a full time job, save the extra 1000 bucks to pay for a fully loaded hondata or a few hundred more and get an AEM. Keep the GSR tranny as well, especially if you drop the compression. Hondas already have almost no low end, the only reason LS' are ok on the low end is because they have the non-vtec head which flows better at low lift and keeps port velocity and swirl up, that combined with it's lower duration cams keeps it driveable.

i would tell you to build your engine first before you add a turbo to be safer and once you have done that at 15 psi of boost you can produce about 370 wheel hp and can run 1/4 mile times if you are good at driving in the high 11's or low 12's. good enough for the street and is very capable of smoking corvettes and ferrari then. and also for your info the internals on a stock gsr can handle upto 15 psi of boost if it is tuned correctly and if only 101 ocatne gas or higher is used.

101 octane is only about $3.10 a gallon and if you are crazy like some of us you pay the price for what you want. 15 psi on a fully built gsr block with a b16 head and jg manifold. everything has been port and polished, engine rebored and tuned with an ems with 720 cc injectors is very capable of producing those numbers. you need to go to places like jotech to let them tune your car and they can get you these numbers.

oh yeah i forgot, you want to use 10.2 compression with the timing slightly retarded. seems to work well on cars i have seen. you can always boost more than 15 psi but you may need a bigger turbo.

Oh, well you had more mods than I thought. B16 head makes quite a difference, especially with than manifold. I bet that alone made you 40 HP over the stock GSR head + intake manifold.

Are you really this dumb? The JG edelbrock intake is worth, at TOPS 15-20 horsepower on a turbo car. Airflow being within 2 CFM all the way across the board will yield almost identicle power output. If you looked at 100 stock heads you'd see more variation than that between them. And what do "N/A Characteristics" have to do with anything? Flow numbers are flow numbers.

They are only flowing through it what a N/A car would pull through. If you are forcing it through at a much greater CFM then they are testing the results will differ a lot more.
