Hey guys. I'm thinking of buying an integra LS and my buddy thinks he could beat me with his 2000 civic si. what do you guys think?

config
08-13-2003, 06:25 PM
Civic Si (1999-2000) 160 hp, 111lb torque @ 7000rpm, 2584 lbs, 15.6 1/4 , 7.1 0-60

Integra LS, GS, RS (2000) 142 hp, 124 lb torque @ 5200 rpm, 2643 lbs weight, 15.9 1/4, 7.6 0-60

With IHE you would win, but otherwise its gonna be him winning, and if your a good driver, then a close race.

I found on the net a 1/4 mile time of 16.8 for a 92 ls teggy.....are the 92-93 integras as fast as teh 94+ ls?? they have the same power and same weight pretty much right?? I have never ran my car but it feels about 16 or so by the seat of the pants feel

Wow.....the 94 LS could do a 15.9 on the 1/4 mile???? I am suprised. I even have an AEM CAI, i could run better than that right? Wait until i get a turbo...........SMOOOOOKEN.....!!!!

i have a 91 teg with cai and i am always smoking newer (94-up) tegs, so i don't really know why but thats just the way it has been with me. i don't really know of a time that i have lost to a newer ls model. personally i think the 90-93 tegs are faster. oh yeah, with the cold air and the back section of my exhaust unbolted at the axle, i can run a 15.9. probably even better than that if all my motor mounts weren't broken, had good tires, and new axles.

Man I was runnig 15.8's with just short ram intake and muffler. And that was the first night I had ever raced at the strip. But I agree that the 91-93 tegs feel lighter but the 91-92 are not going to be faster with only 130hp vs 142hp of the 94-96 and 140 for 93 and 96+. I can tell you that what you need to do is get a intake manifold from a b18b1 and put it on your b18a and if you can get the camshafts too you will gain the 10-12hp from that also a ecu from a 94 or 95 integra obdI will fit your teg that could help out as well. Cheap hp is a good thing :grinyes:

actually the 90-91 is the only year with 130hp and 121lbs of tq. from 92-93 it increase to 140hp and 126lbs of tq. just want make that correction since i use to make the mistake that all sec gen had 140hp. i too race a third gen and i won, but i think this is the result of how experience the drive is since both cars are close matched.

damn bolognie why can't u live in cali, :crying: im buying a body kit next month and will be painting my car soon. so what ever discounts i get will be very helpful but hey if u move to cali let me know :bigthumb: . next year after i save some more money, if any of u guys with sec gen tegs want to buy any performance parts let me know. im trying to find some peeps who want to get a group buy and save some money on racing parts, i might even get my kit from there also. already i got heavy duty high performance axles and will be getting bigger brakes. thinking of either baer brakes system or brembo brakes sytem (might get the baer since, brembo cost like 2g's just for the front, ouch). if people are thinking why am i getting these instead if h/p upgrades, its because im slowly getting ready for a stage 2 turbo application so i wanna make sure my car can handle the extra 120+ h/p. and this is only at 7 psi, the cool thing is my stock motor can be up to 12 psi. its gonna be a potent combination, and truly a car to be reckon with :evillol: - ls turbo. oh with the turbo its either gonna be a rev hard or drag (stage 2).

120+ hp from 7psi? sorry man but that is not going to happen It will be more like 80hp. 120+ would need 12psi.

a skeptic huh? its alright bro, unlike some peeps here on A/F( no one particular in this thread) i don't bull shit. if u notice about the comment i made on turbo applications i pointed out that im going for the stage two. stage one makes about 75+ hp at 7 psi (which is the one most are familiar with), because it has a small turbo letting it spool quicker, but of course a smaller turbo means smaller hp gains. the difference between the two is that stage two is basically a bigger set up having a larger to4e turbo, including a new turbosmart waste gate and a billet map diffuser which lets it gain 120+hp at 7psi. and if u still think this is bull shit heres the web site for rev hards turbo applications, be my guess to check it out. http://www.revhard.com/turbo_kits.html hopefully ur a lttle more enlighten on the subject.

one major problem with stage two though is that its not carb legal while stage one is or should i say "still pending". i even e-mail them asking if they are going to have a carb legal stage two soon, thier reply was 'no reply' :crying:. maybe thats why its a little cheaper.what u say now? oh and if someone is interested with the stage three all i got say is good luck. u better be ready to fork up a lot and i mean a lot of dough to replace everything in the engine bay and its not even streetable. but hey look on the bright side u got 550+ h/p and thats only from the turbo!!!!! if u got this ur the shit, period! :worshippy

09-07-2003, 10:32 PM
Man I dunno about that kit they say to use the stock injectors :eek7: But with the stage 1 they say use 440cc injectors. hmmm I am not flamming or not believing you I just think maybe they have some typos or something on their site.

u can give it a shot, but i recommend to get some experience first. it's really competative here in cali and if u have no experience, chances are u have no job. yeah the import scene in cali is definately big, this is where it all started. well southern cali to precise, which was where i came from. now im in the bay area going through college. GOT NINE FREAKEN YEARS LEFT!!!!!! honestly i don't know how the pay is for body work since i never done it, but i can ask around how much some get paid if ur curious. also if ur thinking of coming over i can bring up ur name and don't hesitate to drop me a line if u visit. another thing, for some wierd reason i always thought u were in ur 40's and married with kids, guess i was wrong if u can just pack up and leave like what ur doing.

Yeah it would be nice to be were the scene is, if it wouldnt be to much trouble to find out what they pay that would be awesome. In my 40's? lol no way man im 21! I definetly plan on going out there atleast on a small trip to check out the scene and see what its all about out there, as soon as my car is done wich should be very early this spring or late in the spring if problems arise. Any help you could offer me is cool thanks. And oh yeah one more thing nine years of school left??!! holy !@#$@ thats crazy!

Well its a race between a 127 hp 1.6 and a 1.8 142 hp, no big weight differences. Guess who wins?

If it was against a US si 00, or an SiR 00 (same thing) Youd get busted.

and if it was a real mans SI, I still dont think the teg would get busted, lose by a bit. but ive seen tegs with bolt ons run same as SI's with bolt ons at the track.

i have raced many 94 and up integras, and i have always won, and from my experience it is becuase the gen.2 integras have shorter geared trannys so i say if you buy that teg. then get a GSR tranny or somthing with LSD

fastest i've ever heard a stock ls was a 95(3rd gen) at 15.84 though i think the usual is 16.2-.4 ish. It's all about your launch, i would say you shoudl win hands down unless you suck at driving.

and full cat, and tip? usually if its a high flow cat, its referred to as such, not a full cat, so I know thats not what he was talking about, and if its an aftermarket full catback exhaust then they pretty much always have a nice tip. and on the saturn, a tip does dick shit for the performance of your car so thats irrelevent. also gasoline engine I know of has plugs and wires.....

and now that I think of it, Ive seen a modded GSR get spanked by an EX. but guess what, its cuz the gsr driver fucked up on the launch and on 2-3rd shift. the EX driver knew what he was doing.

oh, and how old was this again?

if it was me, i would smoke the civic, only because i know how to drive, people around here say that i launch like a AWD car... which is true because i out-launched a GSX many times.. it all depends on ur driving skills. u CAN take it if u know how to launch... and dont do that fucking 2.5k and dump the clutch shit, u will lose.
