Has any one used one of these? The only reason I'd like one is to firm up my shifts a bit.My question is does the progammer only work at full throttle or will it firm up the shifts all the time? And is it worth the money?tia

Very good upgrade for price. The harder shifts are noticable with/without full throttle. I had a 99'/5.3 With the programmer and a K&N Air filter, and the added horsepower/improvement in shifts were definately noticable. Its also awesome to get past the governor. I'd recommend both as affordable upgrades to your truck that dont require much work.

I added the power programmer III to my '02 Duramax yesterday. It took all of five mintues to program, and the difference was astounding. Additional power throughout the entire spectrum -- even off the line, which Hypertech doesn't really tout.
I'm pulling a horse trailer this weekend so we'll see how it does with 7,000 lbs behind me, but thus far I'm very impressed -- best upgrade I've done to date.
