Hey i am looking at getting rid of my civic and getting an older style 4runner, About a 1995. I wanna lift it and put bigger tires on it but i have a couple of questions.

1)If i put a 5" lift on it, what size rims and tires should i run? I wanna put on at least 35s.

2) What type of rearend and gearing should i use for these tires?

3) What are the biggest tires i can put on at stock height?

4) What type of lift should i go for. I was looking at doing a fourlink and getting rid of the leafs.

Thanks

5" lift 33 x 12.5 tires
7" lift 35 x 12.5 tires
9" lift 35 x 14.5 tires
10-12" lift 35 x 16 tires

2) What type of rearend and gearing should i use for these tires?
same rearend w/ 4.88:1 or 5.29:1 gears (front and rear)

3) What are the biggest tires i can put on at stock height?
32 x 11.5

4) What type of lift should i go for. I was looking at doing a fourlink and getting rid of the leafs.
the lift that was designed for your truck (ie. Lift Kit (http://www.4wheelparts.com/product2.asp?imseqn=493&occlass=SUP&cat=SUS) )

I think a 4 link is beyond your skill level right now. unless you are going to take it to a shop.

it takes a lot of designing and engineering to fabricate a good 4 link.
if you are really interested in doing a 4 link, do a lot of research on the net for a good way to set it up.

I have worked on lowered trucks before and have put four links on them. Not really a four link for the 4runner but something to get rid of the leafs and help get rid of wheel hop.

Thanks that helped.

I'm sure you are mechanically inclined, but it takes more than bolting up 4 links to make it work
there are alot of things that need to be taken into consideration,
4 linking a lowered vehicle is one thing, making a safe off-roadable 4 link suspension takes a lot of calculations and trail and error. what I'm trying to say is.... unless you really need or want it, its a lot of work for fair results.

if you are concerned about wheel hop...consider looking into traction bars.

if you are dead set on tackeling a 4 link setup do some research on it, and I am sure you will get it done.

Thanks for the info. I plan on mustly mud runs and daily driving so i will have to look into traction bars.
