Hey , i have heard from a few that this year of 94 has trans problems ..
Mine all of the sudden with no warning , is not shifting out of first gear at all , engine revs when you want to go faster and that is all , 25 miles ph is all i am able to go , Yes this is an AUTOMATIC
What is the real story ?
Is this true about this years model ??
If so , is nof ford responsible for the defects ??
Has there been any recalls ? or any news posted about this model ??
Please let me know

Your 3rd to 4th shift servo has gone bad.
The reason that it has gone bad is because of the heat from the cat. You have 2 shift servos on your transmission on the pass. side of the vehicle, and they look like the bottom of a soda can side by side. the front one is the 3rd to 4th i believe.
the only tools that you will need are a good pair of snap ring pliers and a small flat screwdriver. it is very simple to change.
I hope that i was able to help you out.

Sounds like the common tranny failure symptoms. These were poorly designed transmissions from Ford. You can still make the vehicle shift from 1st to 3rd by letting of the accelerator entirely once up to 2500 rpms or more. Mine is doing the same thing currently, until I install a rebuilt tranny this week. Be careful driving it in this state, as when you need to accelerate quickly while in motion, the tranny will not respond. Ford has never acknowledged a problem, and the trannys usually fail after the 36k warranty. But all tranny shops know that this tranny is junk. This time I bought a rebuilt one from Ford because they offer 3yr / 36k warranty.
