Some new DUB CITY conversions...

I haven't been around in awhile...I've been working on my fullsize truck. So here a a few of the creations I recently created. All models are 1/24th scale.

My front tilt hood silverado with wood bed conversion

One of three belairs that I have...this one sportin' lowenhart rims in a 27"/30" combo setup. Also has the silverado speaker setup in replace of the rear seat.

And my bread and butter truck...chopped top, tilt bed, also with the wood bed and wood sub bed.

Those are really cool. What kind of wood do you use to make the wood beds?

Dude that blue silverado is bad ass!!! Could you include some detailed photos of the front tilt hood?? And maybe some detailed photos of how you lowered it if its not too much trouble of course. Looking good on all of em though.

I used balsa wood from a local hobby shop to make the wood beds. I sanded it with 600 grit, taped off the wood in strips and used chrome spray paint to make the chrome strips.

As far as lowering it...I chopped off the ground effects (I can't stand ground effects), then drilled new holes higher in the chassis and remounted the disk brakes and rims. I also had to use smaller rims in the front (from the S-10 extreme model) to get it to sit lower.

I thought you used different rims b/c in the link the wheels are different. I hate ground effects too, I'll probably chop mine off during the school year when I get bored.

Looks very nice anyways. I've been looking for a good wood to make a wood bed, and now I know.
