Rally Celica

I'm having fun uploading pics tonight, so here's my Celica. It's a Tamiya kit, built box stock except for harnasses just like the ones in my Civic (except red Sabelts instead of Green Takatas). Unfortunately, you can't see them. Oh well. At least you can see my wicked windsheild wiper effect.... I'm particularly proud of that, even though it was sinisterly simple. All the mud is acrylic art paint, thinned slightly with water, and flicked on by putting some on a toothbrush and rubbing the bristles with my finter. At least I think so, this car is a couple years old now.

Good job, I agree, the mud doesnt look that realistic. But that windshield wiper effect does look good.:bigthumb:

The mud pattern looks good, but maybe some texture will be helpful!! Good luck and keep up the great work!!:bigthumb:

It looks really cool, but the mud looks a little unrealistic.

I'll have to sit on the fence about the dirt job ...cant make up my mind on it http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/dunno.gif
The wipers are very well done though and give it a nice touch http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/bigthumb.gif

You've put a lot off effort in there. Really nice!

i love the wipers. The mud looks good to, i would put some behind the wheels going backwards to simulate splashing thru puddles. Unless you werent looking for that look, but it still looks good.

Yeah, you know what? I'm pretty iffy on the mud, too. But it was fun to put on. It doesn't really have a mud texture, but it does sort of look like that thin, silty mud that gets splashed up on a car, and the water dries off, leaving a film of mud behind. Which is, incidentally, the kind of mud found on the Safari Rally, which this car won.

Oh, ok. Thats cool. but I think you should try and make it a little thicker.

You need a big trail of mud behind the wheels as this is where most of the mud is splattered up. But it looks great!
