I have no idea what it would cost in Canadian, but here goes...

That Monte Carlo is gonna be pretty damn heavy. An older engine like that is not gonna put out the unrated numbers of your LS1, if you're both stock. He could built that, but he would still have some problems with overcoming his weight disadvantage. I'd say stock for stock you should have absolutely no problems beating him.

If you're looking for some easy, cheap gains for lots of horsepower, there are really none. In order to get larger gains, you've gotta do alot of small things first, and then tack on the big additions later, or hit the big mods first and fill in with the necessities afterwards. Either way, it's expensive. What gains are you looking for from your TA?

Yup, get a new performance air filter, new airlid, headers, cat back exhaust, forget the cats if your state doesn't care about them, new set of rearend gears, cam, new heads, torque converter, short shifter, drag radials, cold air induction like SLP's, etc. Those are just starters.

If I were you, I'd do your whole exhaust, including the headers, and maybe a heads/cam swap, and see if that put you where you wanted to be. Hell, I'd be happy with that, cause that's the direction I'm heading once I'm done with stiffening up my SS:biggrin:
