Car 54, has that thing got a Hemi?

Back in '64, Ford's entire racing effort could have been summed up by the look the guy on the new Dodge commercial has when him and his friend pull back beside that truck at the next light. Brought back from the mid-fifties and sporting more cubes and insane horsepower, the Hemis turned out to be Ford's next nightmare, hard on the heels of Chevy's "mystery engined" '63 Impalas that dogged them for most of the '63 season. Here's my model of the ride of the late Jimmy Pardue, killed tire testing during that dangerous 18 months of the midsixties.

Cool! Is that a model of the car he was killed in?

No, this is the car he started the year in. During the latter part of the season he started running a solid red car that resembled Paul Goldsmith's #25. That was the car he was killed in at Charlotte.
