hey guy's, i got a prob. only after brake to gas peddle transfer the car hick-ups and comes very close to stalling. last year, used optimax gold(shell)it blew the fuell pump. tryed 3 tanks worth very recently then this happens. ahhhhh. stay away from shell. they did pay for the fuell pump and a line flush, just wondering if it could be the gas or the fact that i got 300000 k's on my 96 gl(vulcan,ax4n)with no major work at all. this hick-up is not good for racing. any ideas?oh ya, would a chip increase spark. if so is it bad for boch platnum 4 plugs?

Always get the codes read first. Take it to a shop if you have to, but if you're going to keep the car any length of time, buy yourself a code reader. That will point you in the right direction.
Do you have a vaccum guage? If so, plug it in to a line coming directly off the intake manifold. You should see about 17" or 18" of vaccum. Give the engine a rev - the vaccum should drop just a little bit, and then come right back to either where it was before, or very close.
A vaccum guage can be had for under $25 and can save a lot of guesswork.

my bet is either your electrical system is going... your rotars are seizing up and not letting the engine turn over... or your brake lines are messed up in a way (binded, old, blocked) get it checked man... by a good mechanic not your dealer bcuz they usually just replace the spark plugs which will only make your problem go away for a while untill the plugs start wearing down

i have a new coil pac, wires and plugs. rotars were changed in the spring, four new calipers last yearand brake lines.it wasn't a vacume line either.about my only two choices left are a MAF senser or my throttle bodt positioning senser?new gas tank, fuell pump, fuell lines and injectors.might possibly be a clogged fuell filter but i changed that every spring. i'm running out of options
