Hi i brought my nissan xterra (2000) to Sears for new tires, a brake job, and an alignment. On the way home I noticed my steering wheel vibrating so I thought Hmmm they need balancing they must have forgotten SO I went back to Sears and they inform me that my rims are BENT. If they were bent when I brought the thing in why did they put new tires on bent rims , why didn't they tell me? They said I notice it more with newer tires. I think they are full of it. Is this possible or did they mess up my rims somehow? The steering wheel was fine when I brought it in!!

If you had bent rims on back of the vehicle that were moved to the front than their explanation would make sense . . but as you pointed out they should have learned about this when they balanced your tires

Yeah there is no real way of knowing whether they were bent or not before I brought it in to the shop. One thing I remember they kept telling me it was a NEW guy so I am leaning towards the idea that some mistakes were made. Oh well no way of proving it but thanks for the input! :)

Sorry to hear about your dilemma....
:iagree: w/
If you had a bent rim on the back and it was moved to the front...you would then notice it more than before.
Try taking it to a rim shop to find out if they/or some one they know can fix your rim. Around here it runs about $80.00 per wheel to fix as long as it's not cracked or badly bent.
