If you want a wing, get the track one. I dont think theres much difference between the 2(i dont think theres 3 unless im wrong), the track has different mirrors, a front spoiler. It just sucks tamiya didnt make the Track whels :frown:

Actually there are 3, 2 different versions and a metal plated version too.

As for the rest, I agree with you, Shorty should get the Track version.

The bottom two are metal-plated kits. generally a :nono: since Tamiya doesn't remove the mold lines, so you'd have to tarnish the metal finish during your prep work...

1st : Standard Tamiya 350Z Track Model

2nd : Limited reissue of Tamiya's popular Nissan 350Z kit, with a silver-colored body piece designed to give the look of a metal-plated body.
No Spoilers front or rear

3rd : Limited-release edition of Tamiya's 350Z Track kit that includes a silver-plated body piece, Spoilers at front and rear

4th : Not shown is the same as the 2nd but not plated

IMO I would go for the 1st not being plated beacuse the plated versions still have
the mould lines which show up bad.

Hiroboy

The wheels are Female so any Aoshima or Fujimi just slip on easy

Thanx, and oh yeah, since HLJ doesnt sell the original not metal plated body, im just going to go for the 350Z track with the rear wing and frontlip, i dont think its going to be that bad to sand off the mold lines, and anyways they call it metal plated, its jsut like sprayed in a chrome look paint to look like metal.

You could always go really mad and get this mod kit from Scale Auto Style (http://www.scaleautostyle.com/350z_g.php)

http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/469511Chris_350z7.jpg

Its not too difficult to put together and will leave you with something a bit more unusual..
Check out the 350Z meet post (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=105222) for more ideas...

Unfortunately for the S.A.S kit you have to cut away most of the model. Front bumper/fender, rear, side skirts and hood...
The S.A.S 350Z was my first attempt at any body mods and it scared the S#@T out of me at first!!
To have spent the money on the kit and to start cutting parts off...... :puke: It's not for the faint hearted.
But.... If you take your time removing the parts most of the hard work is done. Chris does a great job ensuring all the parts fit well..
I purchased 2 kits to start off and I've now got a stock build next to my S.A.S kit and it makes a great conversation piece.

It's in HK. it's $9.99 + 11 shipping = $21. Plus, you must have heard the horror stories about his packaging...

The 350z model that doesnt say track, ex. the one above, is the messed up version. This was the early 350z model released by Tamiya that had several inaccuracies. I can't name them all off the top of my head, but one is something to do with a certain rise in the seat between the drivers legs.
