I have just purchased a 2000 trailblazer and it only has one remote. I have 2 more remotes that are numbered 1 and 2 that I would like to program. 1st question is how do I program these and will they work being they were for a gm car? 2nd question is I would like to have the door locks engage when the car starts moving and unlock when it is put in park, I am sure this can be done but I don't know how. Please help

Here is how to program remotes the part numbers have to match the one that works otherwise they won't program!!
With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner in order to indicate that the receiver is in the programming mode:
Locking the doors
Unlocking the doors
Important
All extra transmitters must be programmed at this time. When a new transmitter is programmed, the old transmitters will be deactivated.
Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner:
Locking the doors.
Unlocking the doors.
Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.
In order to reprogram the remote control door lock transmitter with a scan tool, refer to Scan Tool instructions.

As for your second question if it is possible to change your options you would have to look in your owners manual!! There are some very good things in the owners manuals, things you can change or do so please refer to it!! Not all GM trucks have to option of changing the factory settings!!

Thanks for the response. I am curious though about the part numbers on the remotes. Which ones are they? The one that came with the Blazer has 3 numbers on it.
GM/UTA 15732805
FCC ID : KOBUT1BT
CANADA : 1983 101 393
New remotes are as follows-
#1 Labled
GM/LEAR 25695954
FCC ID: KOBLEAR1XT
CANADA : 3521 102 1718
#2 Labled
GM/UTA 25665575
FCC ID : KOBUT1BT
CANADA : 1983 101 393
As for my second question, I do not see anything at all in my owners manual. I have however talked to the service dept at our local chevy dealer and they said that it should be able to be done. I guess I may have to bite the bullet and pay them their outrageous shop charges.
Thanks again

Thanks also for the info. I reprogrammed both of my Trailblazers (2003 & 2005) using these instructions.
Another question..
How can I reprogram the action taken by the power locks after I start my TB? By default the doors lock when the gear shift is moved from park to drive, and unlocked when shifted into park. During my attempts to reprogram the clickers I changed this action and now the doors lock 15 seconds after I start the car.
Unfortuantely I started the car to cool it and let it run. When I came out 5 minutes later my keys were safely locked IN THE RUNNING CAR...duh! Luckily I had a spare key.
How can I change this "auto action" for the power locks?
Thanks!

Those are definately the wrong remotes for the Trailblazer models.
They should be FCC: MYT3X6898B and part numbers 15008008 and 15008009.
A "Regular" Blazer model (not Trailblazer) in 2000 would use FCC: KOBUT1BT and Part # 15732805.

I am not the same person who posted the first reprogramming question. Sorry for the confusion.
I inadvertently re-programmed my automatic locks for 15 seconds after ignition vs. when shifting into drive (or out of park). I need to know how I can re-reprogram the auto locks.
Thanks.

i'm clueless when it comes to anything automotive. i own a 2005 Trailblazer. all of a sudden last night the keyless entry stopped working. i thought it was the battery. i have since replaced the battery and still no luck. any suggestions? i was told it could be a fuse, but i dont know which fuse, and the manuel is not specific enough for me. can anyone tell me what i can do other then take it to the dealership and pay for something that should be so simple?

It is possible that the key fob has to be resynchronized with the vehicle. Freak things like this just happen sometimes.

Hold LOCK and UNLOCK on the remote (after you replace the battery) for 7 seconds near the vehicle to resynch it.

Once you enter programming mode your receiver's memory is erased and blank.
Only the remotes you program at this point will work.
This will make her remote useless...but if she has a key, she can still get in.

OK, thanks, I don't know how to reprogram the existing keyfob that I have. I bought my TB new in 2002, so I know I have the correct FOB,any thoughts as to how to reprogram the fob?
If she has a key ( I am not certain) is that a key with a chip? It opens the door and tailgate, don't want the ex in the car under any circumstances.
TIA, Bobby

****Make sure you are not pressing the brake pedal at all during the procedure as it will interfere with programming mode.
*
*** Also, some customers report success programming with the driver's door open - where others report success with all doors closed.
