Hi all. Although not new to car modelling this is my first Tamiya car kit having previously stuck with R/M and AMT. I have just been quietly watching and hopefully learning from you all.
I have changed my mind a couple of times on how to do it which is why you will notice the different wheels etc on it.
Here it has the rims from the Skyline V Spec 2 under it with Fujimi brake discs.

Decided to put the original wheels back on it and save the others for the Skyline. Left the brake discs though. Body lines very subtly put on with Indian Ink. Changing the mirrors over too. Just sitting together here with no glass. Hope to finish at the weekend.

For a first model, that is fantastic work. Those wheels suit that a treat.
Can't wait to see the finished product!

Thanks for the kind comments guys.
As my original post said - first TAMIYA model NOT first model although it is only the 3rd since a 25 year break.
After seeing all your great models especially fellow kiwi P-Mans I had to try one. Now I am hooked with an Evo 8 and R34 V Spec2 with paint jobs gassing out and I have just received the 2003 Suby from HLJ.
The colour is Tamiyas TS54 - Light Metallic Blue and yes the interior is different because I wanted it to be mine not a clone of everyone elses.
Once again thanks guys.

Certainly looks nice, I think the paint work would benifit from a bit of compound and a good polishing
No a fan of the yellow on the seats but other than that the interior is great.

Looking good so far. The Skyline wheels look pretty good on the car, tho - maybe you should have kept them on! :)

I love it, i think that the interior is a nice touch to the colour of the car,and with the yellow on the seats breaks up the blue, like everyone else i cant wait to see it finished, And i think the skyline mags looked better, but if you have bigger plans for them i cant wait to see what you come up with:bigthumb: :bigthumb:
