Rattling in doors

Recently I've noticed that if I turn the music off and drive on a not-so-smooth street my two front doors kind of make a rattling noise. It's coming from either the door or the pillar behind them. What do you think is causing it? It's not the same as the thumping noise I get when I go over bumps. It's more of a clicking noise. At first I thought it was my seat belt bucket banging up against the pillar but I always have my selt belt on. Any ideas? Maybe it has always been there and I just never noticed. I usually drive on the highway and highway driving is still very quiet.
The car is a 2002 BMW 325xi. I don't think it is a defect because the chances of both sides doing it at the same time would be low.
Thanks for the help. I don't want to take it to the dealer and look like a moron because it's normal cabin noise. I've simply never noticed it before.

I noticed the same problem with my doors a couple of weeks ago. Through much searching and frustration, I finally isolated the noise: in mine, its coming from where the two door pannels meet, at the corner, near the rear of the door under the arm rest. Its the first problem I've had with quality since I've owned my car. I'm a little disappointed, but I have my regularly scheduled inspection next week. I'm gonna mention it to BMW and see what they can do about it since I'm still under warranty. I'll post more when I hear back from them. Hope this helps...

I've noticed this intermittently on my X5 and 540. Very interested to know what the problem is.

I had BMW look at the rattling in my doors when I was in for services. They isolated the problem to something behind the door panel and sprayed an adhesive into the door. Pretty simple/cheap solution, and I don't know if it will last, but its fixed the problem for the time being. I'll keep you posted.

This should be a warranty problem. BMW has at least a 3 year, 36 month warranty. Take it to a dealership where it will be free. BMW's also have many problems with noisy window regulators. This should still be diagnosesd by a certified dealership's service center under warranty.

I had a buzzing rattle in my doors. Turned out to be the speakers. I refixed them and the noise went away.
