1999 Camaro CD Changer question

Hello all! I'm a noob here. I see a bunch of engine posts here. I hope my stupid audio question isn't out of place. Here goes:

I have a 1999 Camaro with the Delco "Monsoon" Cd deck in it. When I bought the car I told the dealer I wanted a CD changer in it. He informed me that the only way to get a CD changer in it was to have a tape deck instead of a CD deck. Since I have no use for a tape deck and wasn't entirely convinced of his expertise I looked onward until I came across a certified Delco shop and one that did many installs for the local GM dealership. After telling them of my CD changer problems and letting look at my car they too said that in order to control the CD changer through the deck, I would need a tape deck, and that the CD deck would not control it. They offered a 10-disc RF-modulated CD Changer but I didn't really want that remote control thing hanging around everywhere. Time went on and I still had no CD changer and I eventually just forgot it. Recently, however, while messing around in the trunk I noticed a wiring harness under the left rear speaker on the rear wheel well. It runs all the way into my cd deck. Further research shows that it is the EXACT wiring harness connector that plaugs into GM factory Delco 12-disc changers...... So will my deck control a changer back there or not? I don't see why the factory would have plugged the controller wire into the deck and run it all the way back there if it didn't. But then again, I've been told from day one that the CD monsoon deck wouldn't control the factory CD changer.....

Please help!

Thanks in advance

[There is absolutely no reason why your deck won't control your cd changer, As long as there is a din plug on the back of the factory deck and it is pluged in, when the correct cd changer is plugged in the deck it will recognized that it has to control one. (be shure that the plug in the back of your car is around an half of an inch in diameter and is black) Make sure that the din plug in the car matches the changer din plug input

Does anyone else in here have a late model Camaro with a factory CD deck and a factory CD Changer? Any pictures of the plug-in on the changer and/or the wiring harness that plugs in? Just want to be sure before I try buying one.
