My idle is weird. when coming to a complete stop when pressing the brake my idle will goto about 2000rpm and stay there for a second then drop to about 900 then right back to 1500rpm and it keeps going like that, i've checked for air leaks or a vacumn leak and i dont seem to have one. I 've adjusted the air/idle control screw located on the throttle bottle and it dont seem to help...any more ideas?

trying reseting the ram on your on board comp. take off the wires to your batttery and let it sit for about 5 mins. reconnect the battery and start up your car. i'm not sure if this will help but , its worth a try. if that doesnt work check your MAP and O2 sensors

check all ur hoses etc, and water levels cos mine used to do it due to the water pressure, or temp not right, so it didnt know how to idle, if u will, so it went up down, etc, i fiound my raditor was leaking, and there was like no water left, and it was one of the water sensors not mesuring, due to the fact there wasnt newater to measure, so yeah try that too, or it could be a fuel pump prob? its endless really, i was told that like a dirty clogged up valve can casue it too!! lotsa reasons!!

Oh, check your air filter, your car just might be having a hard time breathing. A friend of mine had a civic and it sounded real bad. When i open the filter box, the whole filter looked like the inside of a vaccume. when i cleaned it, it runs smoothly.

if it's not a vacuum leak, then it's most likely your idle air control (IAC) valve.

MY acura rs does the same to it idle from 1300 to 1600 and it just suck there. however if your header is leaking would that cause the problem.
