Hey newbie here..

Someone broke into my car and messed up the whole side of my car for some reason, so i had to take it in to get it repaired

i finally got it back after 3 weeks, and it looks great. the guy who worked on it said something is up with my stearing block or something, and i should get it replaced? I dont notice anythign with the steering but then again i know pretty much nothing about cars..

anyways i get in my 2000 Caviler this morning and start driving. all of a sudden, i hear this noise like someone is rubbing stryophone against something. I dont know what it is, and it's really pising me off. I've had the car the whole weekend, and it never made this noise till thismorning, which makes no sense...

yea, i have the same thing, i think it's got something to do w/ the steering column, 2 pieces of plastic rubbing and hitting together. i'm not sure what it is exactly, but doesn't seem to do anything but annoy me. if you find out, let me know.

Hi,

I have a 2000 Cavalier and I have the same noise like you since 3-4 months! It's very annoying (your comparaison with "is rubbing stryophone against something" is exact). Anyone has a clue how to fix it? Maybe just some grease will be enough? If so, how and where I have to put it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

i had the same problem on my cavy, although i tended to only notice it for the first 5 minutes or so of travel, and then only at slower speed over bumps and such. Turned out to be a broken strut, which are unusually common in GM cars. It's worth a check.

Hello,

Maybe we don't have exactly the same problem. When I take my car in the morning to go to work, I don't hear any noise. Everything is fine. I think because it's cold outside because the noise comes after a while when the car is warmed (around 5 minutes). Last summer, the noise was always there even the morning!
