Hi there, I just got a 2002 Double Cab, and I'd like to know what people recommend to upgrade so I can get more HP into my baby. I was thinking about just getting a k&n air filter....would anyone know how much HP that adds at the wheel? And do throttle body spacers work at all??

Thanks

Erich

well, if you really wanna go crazy, get yourself a crazy little winch, and be really really cool =]

hehe, i definatly dont recommend a good winch as a first mod, but still, they definatly will be needed in extreme off-roading

My first mod was a K&N Filtercharger Gen 2. The specs say it will increase crank HP up to 10. I used a G-tech and measured maybe 6 or 7 peak increase at the wheel. It's enough to peel my tires from a standstill. It's loud when you push hard on the pedals but is quiet during normal driving.

The spacer is supposed to create a spin the intake flow causing it to mix better. I haven't seen any test results or heard of any first hand testimonials but from my engineering background would not expect it to be a significant difference. The fact that it doesn't work with the K&N filtercharger makes it a no brainer with me.

If you want more horsepower, go with headers, exhaust, and then supercharge it. But don't do it before me....I wouldn't want to be outdone. Hahaha...
