I'm partial to T/A's myself.
But I like the Camaro.
I'd rather save the 3 grand it costs to upgrade from Z28 to SS and use it on mods though. :smoker2:

What exactly are the differences between the z28 and SS? Which one is faster? I am assuming that they both have the same potential.

The only difference is pretty much the exterior changes (Hood, Spoiler)

However, the "standard" SS comes with a slightly better flowing exhaust system (same that comes on the Trans Am WS6).
If you opt to upgrade to the SLP Optioned SS, you'll get an even BETTER exhaust (SLP Dual/Dual), a few lil SLP gadgets and such.

Out of the box, both the SS and Z28 are equal in performance.
GM just likes to tell you that the SS is special, thus making it faster (in their mind)

Unless you are paying cash for the car I would say it's not worth it. If your a normal person that is not rich and can afford to take a huge hit on the resale then I say go for it, other than that these Camaro's can make you real poor real quick..

On a dyno they will both put down almost the same RWHP, with SS having slightly more, only because of the exhaust. But it depends on A4 or M6, an M6 will dyno higher than an A4, due to higher drivetrain loss in a auto (about 20-22% or M6 12-15% loss) But Sh!t happens, down here at sea level I've seen A4 Z28's all stock dyno 315 at the wheels. It depends on alot of things, if the car is a factory freak or a factory loser. In the 1/4 the cars will run anywhere from (what I've seen) 13.7@102mph, to 12.8@108mph with the SS or WS6 having no real edge on a Z28 or regular T/A. The LS1 is the same in all F-bodys only difference is exhaust and intake, depending on the model you get, expect around 360-370hp at the fly wheel for any LS1 f-body.

SS has better slightly better suspension stock, and has different levels of suspension to choose from. But you can also get the 1LE suspension in the Z28.

Yes, I would sooooo buy a 2002 SS with the 345hp package, and 1LE suspension option, if I had the money. :(

I've seen 2002 SS go for $30,000 After about a month on the lot the dealer can be talked down to $26,000 but I still dont have 26,000.
