T-Top or Convertible Grand Prix

Have any of you thought about doing these kind of modifications? I just heard about a guy that lives in my town that can make anyone's car either convertable or t-top or add a sunroof and whatnot.

If anyone has seen a grand prix with those mods can you post a pic or something? :bigthumb: Just thought i'd bring this stuff up.

I don't know who owns this car, or who made it a convertible, or anything like that, but I found it on someone's website who had pics from one of the Grand Prix Gatherings. If my car was a two door, I'd love to have it made into a convertible.

I think that looks really good. My 2 door would look very cool like that.

I always said my '94 SE coupe would have looked good as a convertible. And if I ever get enough money, I want to buy a '97-'02 GTP coupe, Tropical Teal Mist Metallic, and have it made into a convertible with a white top. I just think it would look freakin SWEET.

What made no sense to me was in around '94, when the Cutlass was still a W-body, they were avaliable in convertibles, but their sisters, the Grand Prixs, weren't.

ASC had made an early '90s Grand Prix convertible. From what I understand, it was a prototype and only one was made. There is a picture of it floating around somehwere on the internet.
To have a car converted into a convertible, it costs lotsa money. Numbers can reach 8 grand, I believe. I had also heard of a guy that was going to take a Cutlass Supreme convertible and replace all the body panels and such with that of a Grand Prix.. therefore making a 'stock' convertible Grand Prix. I've never heard whether or not he's completed the project though.

You know, the body panel swap thing is actually a good idea...I had never even thought of that.

You've started the wheels in my head to turning now.

To do list:
find cosmetically damaged Cutlass convertible.
find decent Grand Prix body, no motor or tranny required.
get this guy I know who did body work for years to help me swap all body panels.
own grand prix convertible.

Nice car. Makes me wish I had money. I really like the paint job on it (candy apple red?) and is the hood stock with GTP's or something? Ugh, I shoulda waited to get a GTP.

That's an ASCD Ram Air hood, I believe (avaliable at www.pfyc.com). They aren't stock on GTPs, but the GTXs came with a ram air hood, but it wasn't that one.

And yeah, you should have waited and got a GTP...There's a noticeable difference in power. I had to drive without my supercharger for a while...believe me...GTP is better!
