I did it again...

...slipping clutch and all:tongue:.
On the way home from getting a haircut, I approach this light that just barely turns green as I approach it.
There are three lanes at the light, of which the two at the far-right merge to end being a 2-lane road.
Seeing that only the far left two lanes were occupied, and I was already at speed, I slowed-down only slightly and take the far-right lane, which of course, puts me in front of the car in the middle lane when the lanes merged. That car in the middle lane just happened to be a Civic.
Let me tell you about this Civic. I was able to glance at the back of his car as I slowed down to go through the intersection, and I saw that he at least had a dual-tip exhaust/muffler. This Civic was red...and had the requisite-to-ricerdom yellow-painted moldings to "match" his red, a huge "H" emblem in blazing yellow on his hatch window, and the large, yellow vinyl banner across the windshield. He was lowered, on stock Honda hubcaps. It was a 4thGen by the way.
Anyhow, I guess he takes a hit on his ego when his self-assumed role as leader of the pack was taken over by some Sentra driver (who couldn't care less what he passed...just driving). He decides to gun it and stick to my back bumper as we both pass some van that pulled out of a strip-mall, occupying the only other lane. I knew as soon as we pass the van, he'd try to teach me a lesson in respect;).
Van gets passed, and his front-end lifts as he punches it. I rev-match as he gets next to me, and I put it in 2nd@50mph as he passes. I immediately get next to him, and by the time my 2nd is wound (which is not too far-off coming from 50mph), I'm already ahead by half-a-car. By the time I get halfway up 3rd, I'm already 3 cars ahead.
We get stopped at another light, this time with him directly behind me, since there is a car that was already at the light when we get there. He's sitting there revving his little heart out, right behind me, with the owner having a determined look on his face. I decided then that I'll show him what a FWD LSD launch can look like (I know, I know my clutch:thefinger). I did a beautiful launch, with my clutch doing it's slipping for me ( :icon16: ). Well, it's not really THAT bad...
This time, he was behind me at least 10 car-lengths by the time I topped 3rd. The light I eventually stopped at had a wide open lane right next to me on my left. I was occupying the right, and turning lane. To my surprise, he stays behind me.
I tried to look at the driver, and he looked busy adjusting his stereo or A/C or something:rolleyes:. I can tell you...he didn't have that determined look anymore:biggrin2:.
As the light turns, so does he, going right. I figured he had already taught me all the respect he needed to teach me, so I went straight, and went home:sunglasse.

First off, happy birthday:bigthumb: and second off, thank you. I love when riceboys are taught that their car is NOT a ten second car stock.

good kill. it always sounds sooo fun to kill cars soo bad in a car like yours. the problem is, no one like that wants to race me. so i never get a chance to destroy people like you do. and i'm pretty sure that if the same cars that raced you raced me it would've turned out more disasterous.:biggrin2: but, nice kill.

Dang! You must've looked in my profile:redface:. Thanks:).
TatII: If you were here in AZ, you'd probably be racing them everyday. The trick is choosing which ones to race in what conditions. You'll be so tempted, but gotta watch your surroundings for cops/traffic/pedestrians.
Edit: A lot of them are posers here, BTW. Even in my old (modified) 1.6, SOHC, non-VTEC Civic, I hardly ever lost to another Honda. Go figure.

heh, i actually beat a riceboy civic yesterday, but it was exciting enough for a story.

 I was just telling my friend the other day about how sentras were faster than they looked and that they were badass cars and stuff. Solely because I kept hearing it from you. Congrats on the kill. I love the ricekills because you know they drive off all pissed that a stock "pos" just crushed them and that they drive off kicking themselves, wishing they had a second chance, because maybe if they had JUST double clutched instead of granny shifted they would have whooped that stoopid sentra.

Sounds very familiar to where I live. There are a lot of “all show no go” cars around here. Nice kill and it makes it all that much better with a slipping clutch. I've had a few of those kills myself.
I guess that'll teach you some respect.
