I know I am probably going to get flamed for this but I was thinking of selling my Teg LS and getting a Lancer Evo VII. I am Honda and Acura to my heart and really dont like mitsubishi very much but after all of the stuff I have read on this car, I have realized how bad ass it was. Plus I recently got burned by one stock!! 276hp looks really nice to me right out of the box without any mod. What do you think? What would you do?

I would take an Evo over my Integra any day, but I would take a WRX STi over an Evo if I had the chance.

well, if i had the cash id buy an evo VIII, everytime i pass the mitsau dealer I have to stop and stare for like a half hour cuz its so swet, and 13's stock. man id ;love to have that car, but it starts at like 28k, then options 30, and for some reason the dealer markup is 8k so it ends up 38,500

for 38,500 in a teg Id be deep into 12's at least, prob 11's but not a daily driven sedan either.

Well, if price wasnt an issue, i would take the Evo.

In 98 I brought my teg new, which put it at like 19 or 21 thousand, so spending 30 to 31 is not a problem. Its good to see that a lot of people feel the same way I do. You love your Integras but know that there are other sweet ass cars out there to be had. Like the Evo, STi and Skyline.

i would definetly get the lancer over an integra, but the wrx STi, for around the same price, no question

I like the older WRX's better though, and the evo has beaten the WRX in the 1/4 and on the slalom and a couple more tests when I read about them in motor trend i think. but if it was the performance of the STI in the older package id go for it before the evo

STi and the Evo are the same weight, STi has almost 25 more horsepower, it beats it in the quartermile, but i also read that the Evo has lighter (better) handling than the STi, though they both are extremely fast and handle extremely well.

my friends, think the wrx , and evo is bad ass. i on the other hand don't find it very appealing, and its too boxy for me, i still like the tradition sporty sexy features of a car, compared to this new rally drive anywhere look. but i gotto give it to them, they're both awd and thats awesome.the horse pwer is cool too, 270-300hp thats a lot for stock. but if u compare the motor with hp, its just almost average- a 2.5 turbo. i love honda/acura but i think, they need a kick in the ass and tell them to wake up b4 the rivals start catching up and take all thier customers. could u imagine if honda decide to make a 2.5 turbo and thats all wheel drive, i bet it would eat those two rally cars for dinner. o and btw i saw the wrx wagon and it looks really gay, maybe fast, but gay.

i agree about the wagon, and imagine a turbo version of the RSX type S, it would kick ass

If someone gave me 30 grand and gave me a choice of either getting an evo VIII or keeping my integra and tricking it out with the money: I'd keep the integra, with 30 g's I coulde get it down into the 10's, low 10's. but if they gave me a choice between the Evo and the STI, I'd pick the Evo; yes it has less ponies but it's faster around curves, which is the way it was designed, yeah it has an buttload of horsepower out of the 4G63, but it's a rally car through and through. And it looks way more badass than the STI

Evo over a Teg. No doubt.

I would take an Evo or STI if I could get one, over my GSR. I love it, but seriously, the Evo is F A S T. I test drove one. You push the pedal just a bit and you take off as normal, to push it just a tiny and your kissin the back of your head rest. It would take me some gettin used driving in the traffic I do everyday to and from work, but I would still do it. Plus 4 doors is handy, it's tough fittin people into the back of my teg, and its just a bit more fun if you can share your speed with others. Just my thoughts on the subject.

i would buy a evo over a gs-r if money wasn't a limiting factor but i would take the sti over the evo.

Why would anyone get an STI over an EVO. I'm not downing anybodies opinions whatsover, but why go with a new engine in the STI instead of the 4G63 that has over two decades of proven relability and power? The Evo VIII is better looking and has a better engine.

bunch of traitors. :nono:

i hate mitsu... couple of my friends had eclipses and they were in the shop more than out of it getting repairs. evo is a diff story though, it is probably better but i still want my teg over the evo, i like the way they look more... now if i was autocrossing or drag racing i'd take the evo, but i mostly just drive and occaisonally run against people at redlights.

:iagree: the integra still looks better than both of those cars imo, the only difference is power.if i had 30g i wouldn't but the evol or sti put it in my teg add a turbo and mods and i'll be doing low 12's if not lower, and its not like ur gonna go doing fast turns on dirt anyways unless ur racing in some kinda rally circuit. also its a pain in the butt too to wash ur car after u been through a dirt road, believe its not that easy. i would rather stay on the black top any time

I would take the STI because it is cheaper as far as ive seen, and is faster, but as far as looks, I do like them both, and tegs. but I really wish they had the STI in the older style, like those bug eyes.

Actually the STI has the EJ25 engine wich is the same one that comes in all the 2.5 RS non-turbo Imprezas. They just added a turbo and better internals to handle the extra power, but the EJ25 has been known to be a much more fragile engine than the EJ20 thats in the normal WRXs so only time will tell how reliable it is.

Evo > WRX Sti > Integra

Have you ever sat in the back seats of a WRX? Maybe a 5 year old would enjoy it but not an adult.

you just gotta tell the guy in the front to sit like a normal person and then theres no problem.

has anyone converted the awd sti or evo into a rwd car? That seems like it could be pretty hot if you were just going for speed? :2cents: Cause I sure wouldn't be buying one for ripping around in snow piles and cornfield trails.

I'm pretty sure you would be better off sticking with AWD even on the pavement. You get no/less burnout off the line and the traction control system manages your power distribution to help on and off the Pavement. If you think all AWD drive cars are rally cars then where do the 3000gt vr4 and Skyline belong? If those cars were RWD, I don't think they would be much faster on the Drag or autocross. It probably only helps for highspeed races. Not sure if thats what your trying to say on the "Going for Speed" thing, as in Top end Speed. I might be wrong, just adding my :2cents:

with the power distribution and traction control system do you think it would be better to just go lightweight rims all around? Or convert it to rwd? It seems like you would better benefit just by getting light rims than to make it rwd. I was reading around and saw that larger(water sprayed) intercoolers, lighter rims, and a few little pieces here and there, like an exhuast, can change the speed by a nice margin for the wrx. Line starts would probably go to the awd, but the rwd conversion might win in the standing mile. I'd definitely be curious to see it...to see which one had better top end.
