ok, i read through the how to paint a car body in the FAQ sections, so i dont have to ask that question, but what paints (exact brand, etc...) work best for primer, base coat and laquer?

i live in the US by the way so i dont have access to european prodects.

also where can i get cutting compound and what kind of wax is best?

thanks

If you are using spray paints then Tamiya is best for colors. Gunze makes the best primers in a spray can. Yes! even better than Tamiya primer. LOL For brushing you probably want an enamel paint like model master although I use nothing but acrylics from Tamiya for my detail work.Tamiya paint in the USA (http://www.scaleracecars.com)

Any automotive primer will work great, Tamiya for the color coats, and compound and wax my "turtle wax" or "Meguiar's" are both great brands. The compound, wax and primer can all be found at Wal-Mart, the Tamiya paint can be found at pretty much any hobby store :D

I reckon you should stick with Tamiya for metallic paints cos the metallic flakes in some automotive paints are sometimes too big for a scale model.

Do you mean, clear coat? Tamiya TS-13 Clear is good, and it's lacquer paint, too.

um, i think thats what i mean. i'm reffering to the "laquer" that you put on top of metallic finishes according to the FAQ on how to paint a body.

thanks
